Social Media or social networking has taken the world by storm. Services such as Twitter and Facebook have allowed us to connect in a way we never thought possible! People are using social networking for various reasons - from sharing personal things to promoting businesses and growing a clientele base. Whatever your reasons may be for jumping on the social media bandwagon - it's very important to understand how to behave online! Here are 5 basic tips:

1. Don't spam social media users
Only send your messages to people you know and who want to follow you.

2. Monitor in real-time
Responding quickly shows you are on the ball and are actively engaging your followers and helps to facilitate a two-way relationship.

3. Add value to people's day
Don't waste people's time by adding messages that don't contain useful content or provide amusement.

4. Invest in and build quality relationships
Take time to respond to other users - get to know them! This will give you far more credibility.

5. Think before you speak! Remember this is the World Wide Web! Whatever you publish, will be seen instantly!

Their are rules and laws pertinent to Internet communication. Researchers can find them under netiquette. Some people as users of the Internet occasionally have the propensity to forget what's important (Netiquette), post inappropriate material or content, and get band from using the Internet. I'm quite certain that your recommendations will be taken under advisory by many people. Thank you for the reminder and I appreciate your post.
