When I try to add am image to my site, the insert image window appears but there is not a button available for the "Select Image from Computer" option. I am running Firefox 3.0.4 on Ubuntu 8.04

Hi jleeper,

Thank you for providing the picture and we'll try to find out why this is happening.

Are you able to try another computer running Windows or Mac OS and let me know if you get the same problem?

Hi jleeper,

We think this could be an issue with Flash on Linux machines. We're checking it out and trying to find a way around it. Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime.

This does sound like it could be a Flash-related problem. You might try upgrading to the latest version of Flash to see if that helps.

As an alternative, you can try clicking on the "Browse" button to enter the File Manager. From there, you should be able to click the "Upload" button near the upper left of the dialog to upload files from your system.

I use Ubuntu linux and had no upload button in file manager, it worked OK on my Windows machine.

After some messing around, here's what worked.

I used the Synaptic package manager to uninstall all Flash related plug-ins and SWF software. (search for Flash in Synaptic and uninstall everything that is installed)

Then go to www.adobe.com and download the flash package to suit your OS (I used the deb file) and install it in whatever manner your OS or distribution dictates. In Ubuntu you can simply double-click the .deb package once it is downloaded.

Close then reopen Firefox (sorry, I assume you're using FF)

It is important to uninstall the other SWF players that are installed by default or this wont work.

I can now upload a file using File Manager from my Linux machine and in Firefox, the Flash plugin shows the correct version 10 instead of 9
