How do I move my uploaded files already in File Manager into specific folders that I am now able to create without having to upload them again?

Hello,

To move your files from one folder to another, follow these steps:

1. Click on the File Manager button in the SynthaSite toolbar.
2. Right-click on the file and select "Copy".
3. Go to the new folder, right-click in the empty space and select paste.
4. Your picture will be pasted and you can go back and delete the older file by selecting right-click > delete.

Please remember that if your file has already been added to a page on your site, you need to follow these steps:

1. Click on 'Edit' on the top-left of the file.
2. Navigate to the file in your File Manager.
3. Click on 'Select'.
4. This will ensure that the correct path is being used for your file.

Regards,
Emmy

Thanks!!! I was trying to paste them on the folder itself rather than opening the folder first. This works. Many thanks.

Is there a easier way to do this? Like cutting and pasting?

Hello Lego City News

This thread is out of date. If you want to move files in the Yola File Manager, you will need to copy the file, open the folder and paste it into it. Afterwards you will need to remove the file in the old folder because there is no cut functionality, only copy/paste/delete.

To copy/delete a file: Click on the file to highlight it. Select "Copy"/"Delete" from the drop down menu in the top right corner of the Yola File Manager.

To paste a file: Open the folder you want to paste the file into. Right-click on your mouse and choose the option "Paste".

Hmm. Do you think that you could introduce a way to cut and paste files? I have at least 50 files on my site and I want to sort them, and using that way takes a long time.

I'm hearing you. I'm afraid that this is not planned at the moment, but we may consider adding it in future.

Where exacly are my files. Ive heard "resources/folder/file" but that's not working, even just using the CMS interface is not picking the file back up

Hello Rolland

It's mostly a spelling mistake which causes files not to show. File names and even file extensions are case-sensitive. Can you give me an example of a file and let me know to which folder you moved it? Then I'll be able to check it in your Yola account.

If you have multiple Yola accounts, please also tell me your URL.
