Hello Jamie,

Are you able to upload the MP3 to your file manager or is that where you are getting the error?

Could you please share the URL of your site that has the MP3 on it so I could take a look at it?

Many thanks for working with us on this.

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for that information. I have taken a peek at your site and it appears that the standard song is still playing - I do understand what an inconvenience this is and hope to be of help.

I see you have a few songs uploaded to your File Manager. Please share which song you are hoping to have play on the MP3 players. I will be happy to test this on our end for you.

Cheers!

Hello Jamie,

The link that you provided is actually a YouTube URL - so you can use the YouTube player available in the Multimedia folder and replace the default URL with yours. I have tried this on my site and it works wonderfully.

Can you please give this a try and let us know if that works for you?

Hi Jamie,

You can certainly have music playing as soon as someone accesses your site. However, I do caution against this. Music that plays automatically is one of the quickest ways to get people to leave your site, either because they need it to be quiet because they are browsing the internet in an office, computer lab, library etc, or because it clashes with their own music that they are playing on their computer. Most people react by closing the browser tab or window the second the music starts to get rid of the unwanted intrusion as fast as possible.

If you are still wanting to do this, please let me know and I will see what I can do for you!

Hi Jamie,

You can get a YouTube video to play automatically when someone opens your site. However, you need to edit the code from YouTube. So this is going to be a little tricky. It is quite hard to explain here because I need to show you what parts of the code to edit. In Yola, you would:

1. Drag and drop an HTML Widget onto your page.
2. Paste your code into the HTML Editor.
3. Then edit the code to make the video play automatically. This is how you edit the code:

o Original code:
<!--<object width=”425″ height=”344″><param name=”movie” value=”https://www.youtube.com/v/Fmk4A_W4JrE&... src=”https://www.youtube.com/v/Fmk4A_W4JrE&... type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”425″ height=”344″></embed></object>-->

o Replace the code: <!--https://www.youtube.com/v/Fmk4A_W4JrE&...>

o With: <!--https://www.youtube.com/v/Fmk4A_W4JrE&...>

o So that the final code looks like:

<!--<object width=”425″ height=”344″><param name=”movie” value=”https://www.youtube.com/v/Fmk4A_W4JrE&... src=”https://www.youtube.com/v/Fmk4A_W4JrE&... type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”425″ height=”344″></embed></object>-->

Please let us know if you struggle with this!
