Hi Folks,

I've been trying to upload Mp3s to my site at Yola, but they don't work. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Fid

Hi there Fid,
I am sorry you are having this problem.

Would you be able to share you URL with us so we can take a look at your site?

Here are instructions for adding music to your site:

Upload your track to your file manager by clicking on the "File Manager" button at the top of the page.

You can then add the track to your page using an Audio Widget (such as the Google Audio Widget) as follows:

1. In the Widgetbox dialogue box, once you have selected the Google Audio widget, click on 'Settings'
2. Change the url to something like: http://mysite.synthasite.com/resource...
- Where 'mysite' is the name of your published site
- And song.mp3 is the name of the music file you've uploaded and would like to hear
- Remember to include any folder names in the file path if your file is stored in a folder in the File Manager. For example: "resources/Music/song.mp3"
3. Republish your site for the changes to occur live on the internet.

Your music should then be on your page. if you have done this and it still doesn't work please let us know ( and again, if you could post your URL it would be great)

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks much for your help. I wasn't aware of the Widgets Box that contained an audio file uploader - I looked around and couldn't find anything like that. I'll try it as soon as I get done with this message. You wanted the URL. I haven't published the site yet, but the preview page can be seen here: http://sitebuilder.yola.com/sites/D4c... .

Ok, I'll go see if I can get the songs uploaded now. Thanks very much for your help.

HI again,

I got as far as clicking on the Google Audio Widget. There is nothing that resembles "Settings" in that window. I typed the full URL for the particular song in the blank where it's supposed to save it, I click the big "Get Widget" box, it says it's saving it, but it doesn't play on the page - at the builder site, or the published site.

Again, my site is at: http://ikaika.yolasite.com/ .

Thanks,
Fid

Hi there Fid,
Did you add your file name as http://ikaika.yolasite.com/resources/...? Where "songname" is the name of your song?

I checked your site and the audio widget seems to be there but I am not sure whether it is configured correctly.

Could you please check your file name for the song and get back to me.

Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for all your help. I was up til 3 am last night, and I finally got it to work. I think I just had the URL typed wrong the first couple of tries. But, it seems to be working now.

Thanks again,
Fid
