Mulitple admins / subdomain editing

Hi there
I'm setting up a site for a number of people in a group. I will upgrade the site to a yola pro site. It's going to have a central section, and separate sections for each person. I'm thinking setting up a subdomain for each user.

I need each person's section to be separately administered by that person. So far I've gathered from the forum that they will all have to share an email and password.

Is there any way round this? Would subdomains make any difference?

Thanks for any help.

The only way someone else can edit your site is if you give them your login email and password. Unfortunately we don't yet have a feature where you can setup multiple logins and passwords to edit the same site/account.

If you would like each person to have their own site, published to a subdomain, then they can each create their own Yola account and publish their site to a subdomain. I'm not sure if this is the answer to your question though, let us know if you need any further information.

Hi Marije

Thanks for the reply. I presume you mean that each person would have a "mysite.yolasite.com' subdomain? I was imagining one yola pro site with unique domain "mydomain.com" and each person having a subdomain "mysite.mydomain.com" with their own login.

I don't want each person to have a yolasite subdomain or to have to buy a yola pro package each, as their own section doesn't justify buying a unique package.

Hope this is clear! Your input is appreciated...
Thanks.

Hi RexTheRunt - you could have either address type for the sites. In order for people to have their own login details, they would need to have their own Yola account whether the site is published to a .yolasite.com subdomain or a custom subdomain.

If you would like their account to be upgraded to Yola Pro, this would be a separate transaction for each account. We don't have an option where you can purchase Yola Pro and it applies to a range of accounts.

I hope that helps!
