My friend is seriously considering Yola and Weebly to create his web site. I am making every effort to have him go with Yola. This is a question he sent to me that I promised I would post on the Yola forum. Hope you can help me so that I can get back to him ASAP.

I want my new website to be in both English and Bosnian. So that means that I have to have, technically, two websites. I want it to be something like Government of Canada websites: on the first page you choose English or French, or in my case, English or Bosnian, and then it redirects there. Then, on each page, I would like to have a link that says "English" or "Bosnian" depending which site the person is browsing to take them there when they click on it. I'm not sure I know how to accomplish this. Do I need a subdomain and how to do that?

Hi Randy,
It is possible to make a multi-language site with Yola. We have a tutorial with suggestions on how to accomplish this here: Making a multi-language site.

I hope that will help your friend.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

My friend is looking for something similar to this site:

http://www.canada.gc.ca/home.html

When you click on Francais it switches to French, click again and it switches back to english.

Hello Randy,

I have built my first website in two languages previously, each page has a "sister" page in the other language, using the "save as" function, except the index page. The menu issue is a little tricky, because you cannot use the built-in menu of your site, but it is not too complicated to make the new menus with a good (and free) menu generator. Using one, you don't need to deal with any special HTML coding, just follow the instructions of the menu generator. I used this one: http://flashvortex.com - it was very easy to use. For further information see the following topic, hopefully you will find it useful: http://tinyurl.com/yfy7vw6

This is about my first steps and you can find a lot of useful information I've got about the topic of "how to create a 2 language website using Yola?"

I hope this helps. Happy sitebuilding!:)
