I'm opening an online store and want to put multiple pictures up for each product to show their artistic detailing. How can I do this? I would also like my customers to be able to click on the image and it will open a page that is an enlarged version of the same image. How do I go about this?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sandy

Our current shopping cart is fairly basic. It is only possible to add one image per product, and there is no way to create a clickable thumbnail. I am sorry that I can't be of more help with this right now, although I will pass on your request to our developers.

One alternative would be to include a photo gallery page of your products using Flickr Lightbox. You will need a Flickr account but this way you could showcase your products and create clickable thumbnails. This might not be quite what you had in mind, but if you are interested in pursuing this option, let us know and we will post the instructions.

I'd like to try the Flickr approach. I'll go set up my account with Flickr right now. Will you fill me in on how to make this photo gallery on my website.

I really apprieciate how quickly you answered my original question. I do love this SynthaSite and the power you've enabled me with. I live way out in the woods so now I can go to work without using up my time or money traveling. Thank you and thanks for helping me get these photos up.

Hello Sandy,
Once you have your Flickr account set up, here is how you can implement it:

1) In the Content sidebar in SynthaSite, open the Photo Gallery folder.
2) Drag and drop a Flickr Lightbox widget onto your page.
3) In the properties sidebar enter your Flickr account email address (usually a Yahoo! address) in the email address field.
4) In the "Photo Count" field, enter the number of images you want to display.
5) In the "Search" field, enter the tags of the photos you want to pull from Flickr (make sure you have added tags to your Flickr photos or you will not get the desired result).
6) Specify how many columns you want for your photo gallery.
7) Click on the Image Size drop down menu to select small square, thumbnail or medium sized images.
8) Finally, choose between a "modern" or "plain" style for your photo gallery images.
9) Click the "Apply" button to update your photo gallery.

Now save and preview your page. You will have a gallery of clickable images. In the top right hand corner of the large view of the images, click the "next" button to view the next image in the gallery. Click the "Close" button when you are finished browsing through your gallery.

Note: If there are privacy settings on your Flickr photos the search will not be successful. The photos need to be publicly available for it to work.

We have a great tutorial for you to view, please click here:Photo Galleries.

Please let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,
Emmy

Something else you might like is Google's Picasa...it is free and it is great to have just for photos in general. You can make slide shows that will imbed on your web pages. You can choose between different sizes to fit your page best. What I like is that you can open Picasa and do your uploads right from your desktop....Once you make a slide show just look for... link to this album and then choose embed.... choose the size you want ....and it will give you the HTML code.
