hi.
when I make changes to my site all I get at the top of the page is " your changes aren't published yet." It's 4 days since the changes. I can see them but others can not. When I re-published my whole site the changes happened no problem. How long do the changes take . I am on yola free at the moment to test out yola.

thank you.

Hi J,

To publish your changes to the internet you need to click 'Publish To The Web' if you do not do this your changes won't be seen by the public.

Hope this helps.

Hi J,

John is correct, pressing the green "Publish to the Web" button in your sitebuilder should make the amendments appear on your published site. This should take effect immediately.

If you are pressing the green publishing button and your changes are still not appearing online, please share your URL so we can investigate further with you.

Cheers,
Brianna

thank you very very much for making me look so stupid. It's so blatantly obvious it's laughable. I knew that the green button put my site on the web but it just did not occur to me that it reset my page when I made changes, I just put the green button out of my thought process.( or NON thought process )
but seriously thank you john m and brianna for your help. I leave now with my head hung in shame.

I have the same problem on all of my sites repeatedly, yet not consistently. It is very frustrating to make a change, click save, click publish, clear the cache, refresh the Firefox browser only to find that no changes appear. I go through the process over and over and over and over. I finally give up and then have all sorts of complaints about my sloppy websites! Links are a real problem. What is easy in other software is unreliable in Yola. I set a link and it ghosts and does not function. I have to remove the link and do it again, and sometimes again, and again and again, and again. I then call Yola support and they try it and they say they have no problem creating a link!

Hi Suzannah

I am sorry that you keep having problems using the Yola Sitebuilder. I really want to find out what is happening in your account. Can you please follow these steps to help me solve your problem:

Problem to create links

  1. Please go to any page of your website and create a link. Please also check our tutorial on how to do this.

  2. Preview your page and check the link – if it is not working again, please leave it like it is, do not change anything else in your Sitebuilder, and post here what exactly happens when you check the link.

  3. When you post here again, please make sure to tell us the domain to which you published your Yola site, so that we can find you in our system.

  4. We will then investigate the problem going into your account. Please tell us on which page you created the link and what the link says (if it is a text link), so that we can track it.

Changes do not appear
How long does it take for you to be able to see the changes you made after you have re-published? Are you not able at all to publish any changes or does it just taka a long time? How long? We will investigate this in your account as well.

Please allow 1 min for changes to be effective after you have re-published your website.

Hello Peggie

Do you mean that you changed the name of your website by clicking on Site > Site Settings and then on the pencil symbol?

And can you tell my what you mean by "on web"? Do you mean search engines? If you renamed your site, it can take a while until search engines will pick up your changed site name. The same goes for window titles and page description. This is unfortunately beyond our control.
