My music is not playing when I type in the mp3 file name (which is in my file manager)

Why is music from the file manager not loading onto the widget mp3 music player, when I type the relevant code in? It has worked for one song on one page, but other songs which I wanted to place on other pages, are not being 'activated'. In other words, you cannot hear the song playing, once you type in the code. The one song that does work though, is also working on the other pages, as I've tested this. (marcharris.co.uk) Thanks and I hope this makes sense! Marc

Hi Marc,

You need to make sure that the path name is identical to the one in the File Manager in terms of upper and lower-case letters, dots, dashes etc.

The path to your files would be:

resources/folder/file.jpg

Where:

"resources" is the name of the File Manager (you must not change that).
"folder" - if your file is in a folder, include the folder name.
"file.jpg" is the name of your file.

Remember to update your site after uploading the music file so that it is accessibly on your published site.

If none of the above information helps, please could you let me know what path you are adding for the file so that we can take a look?

Thanks Marije for answering. The strange thing is that it is working as it should for one of the songs, but none of the others. I have checked that everything is typed correctly. The path I am trying to add to my second page initially (to automatically start to play when clicking onto that page) is http://marcharris.co.uk/resources/Nine Million Bicycles.mp3
Thanks for looking into this. (The widget is from the widget gallery - mp3 player - the same as the one on my first page).

Hi Marc - are you sure that you've clicked on "Update my Site" after uploading the files? Can you give that another try?

Hi Marije - I have just tried updating it and unfortunately it did not do anything. The problem seems to be before I click on 'get the widget' to my site, because the music does not start to play as soon as I type in the relevant code, as did the other 'playable' song and when I do add it the page, it is just a player with the 'stop' symbol, that cannot be changed to 'play' by clicking on it as it should do.

Sorry! I didn't read you question correctly. Someone else added the songs for me as it is too difficult for me to do! He may not have done so (updated), so I will now try this.
