I'm slightly confused about my new domain name which I have just purchased from 1-2-3-reg.

I have managed to get my new domain http://blunderbox.co.uk to point to my Yolasite domain http://oops.yolasite.com (using DNS management), but it still shows up as oops.yolasite.com in my browser - how do I get my site to show up as my new URL http://blunderbox.co.uk?

One more thing. One of my other sites http://simplyeighties.com works fine as I purchased the domain from Yola. Can I delete my old domain eighties.synthasite.com from Google Webmasters Tools?

Hi Marky,

When you sign into your Yola account you get to a page called 'my sites' if you scroll down to the bottom of that page and click the 'enable advanced domain settings' - then click 'advanced domain settings' and make sure the new domain is set up as the primary domain. (see below)

If that doesnt work you could make sure you have 2 A NAME records set up with 123 reg.

www. & @ both pointing to Yola.

Hi Rumaan,

Are you looking at pointing your Yola site to a domain purchased from 123-reg?

To point your domain to your host's IP address you will need to do the following;

Manage DNS:

1) You will need to login to the account using the "login to your control panel" button. This is located on the top right hand side of the page.
2) You should now be at a new page. Using the scroll bar on the right hand side of your web browser, you should now be presented with the blue section and a dropdown box that contains a domain name. Next to this dropdown box is a button that says "modify domain".

* Select the domain you wish to modify from the dropdown box
* Click the "modify domain" button.

3) You should now be at a new page. Select the option you require. The options you will be faced with are as follows:

* Manage My Blog
* Access My Instantsite Account
* Web Forwarding
* E-mail Forwarding
* Manage DNS
* Change Nameservers
* Change IPS Tag
* Modify Contact Details
* WHOIS Opt out
* Transfer Domain to another 123reg User
* Display or Print an Invoice

4) Click on Manage DNS.
5) All you need to do is alter where the '@' and 'www' A records point to. Just change the existing IP addresses to 208.75.208.172, then click on the "Update DNS" button and wait for 24-48 hours for the new settings to become active.
6) Once you have configured your DNS settings, click the yellow "Publish My Site" button in Yola, then click on "Use my Domain". Click on "I have done this" and fill in your domain name. Follow the prompts to publish your site. (If your site is already published, click the drop down arrow next to the "Update my Site" button, and then select "Publishing Settings" and you will see an option to add a domain you already own).

Hi Rumaan,

When you point your domain name to Yola, you only modify the A Record. Your email is managed by your MX records and so remains unchanged, your email should not be affected.

Yola does not have name servers as we are not the managers of your domain, we simply host your site. Your domain name registrar needs to provide you with your name servers and you then point your site to us by setting up an A record, as per the following instructions:

1. Log in to your chosen domain registrar (eg. GoDaddy.com, Register.com).
2. Go to the DNS Management page.
3. Set up an A Record.
4. The IP address of your record must point to: "208.75.208.172" (you may need to setup two A Records to support your address with and without 'www').

Please note that it can take up to 48 hours (although usually less) for these changes to take effect and you need to contact your domain registrar if you need help in that regard. If you require specific help with the interface of your domain name registrar, please contact them for support.

Can you share the information about nameservers that you are having problems understanding with us, please?
