Hi d bakos,

The instructions I'll paste here and if you can then tell us where things have gone wrong we can see what may need to be worked on with you.

  • Go to the System settings → Payment page.

  • Find the PayPal payment method.

  • Click the "Account details" link in the Payment Processor column. A popup window will appear.

  • Insert your PayPal account's email address(e.g. paypal@example.com) Save the changes.

  • Enable this payment method and save the changes once again.

Ok, this is really strange. I have been trying to work on this for over 3hrs+ and I just went to do as you advised and all of a sudden, the payment method is found. Is it possible that because admin checked in it started to function?
Another question, sorry. When I set up the AUTO RETURN function whilst setting up payment gateways in Paypal, I received the following message and wouldn't have a clue what to do with it OR WHERE to put it ...
"You have successfully saved your preferences. Please use the following identity token when setting up Payment Data Transfer on your website. (unique i.d number)

OK. This is like a token for PayPal to return your customers to a specific page after they have made payment. It is a way of keeping people on your site. Ecwid don't really need it as they already include a return URL embedded in the dialogue.

But the return Option itself is highly recommended and here's the instruction:

"Auto Return" option. You can find it on the "Profile → More Options → Website Payment Preferences" page.
Ecwid sends the necessary value of the "Return URL" in each request to PayPal, so you don't need to specify the value of this option(i.e. "Return URL") on that page. If you use your PayPal account with Ecwid only, just enter any value there, for example: http://app.ecwid.com/paypalstandard/S...

Let me know if this is OK for you?

This is taken from the Ecwid KB.

Thanks, they are the instructions I actually did follow and received the message previously posted. But what I think you might be saying is that its system is already set up for 'auto return' after I've followed the appropriate instructions.
Should I just disregard the 'unique identity token number' provided by Paypal and assume I dont require it for anywhere on my web page at all?
So sorry! I have never set up a web page & dont really know much techy related stuff. I am soo banging my head on the wall with it! lol..

Your doing well then. Good work. Really good work!

You are right. That token is not needed for this store.

People here are very willing to offer support on these issues. Not worth brain injury, work at it and if it doesn't come through ask away.

Thank you for your help. I Dont really know why it wasn't registering my applied payment gateways initially but It's there now. I actually ended up getting to the stage where I was going to not use the Ecwid appl at all and just go ahead with a Paypal catalogue. Oh well.. Thanks again!

Once you have Ecwid working I doubt that you would return to a PayPal widget store. :)
