Hello Tabitha

Can you please specify on which of your pages this happens? I have spot-checked a few pages of your live site, but all pictures loaded fine for me. Is this problem occurring on your live site or in the Yola Sitebuilder/Preview?

I met the issue of not displaying newly uploaded images today.
Uploaded images appear as "zero" value (file name, but no content) in the
YOLA shack.
Because my business depends on displayed images
- please fix it asap.

Hi Jameson,

As there's no email address associated with your post, nor a link to your website, I'm unable to take a look. Could you kindly reply to the questions Stefan asked Tabitha above and also be sure to reply with a link to your site?

Hi Tabitha

The problem is that the pictures you uploaded have a very large file size between 500KB and 1+MB. This will cause such pictures slow to upload as well as slow to load on the page of your website. Depending on the amount of pictures you present on a page, we recommend to choose a file size between 20 and 100KB, so that your website loads quickly for visitors.

I'd suggest that you downsize your pictures to the recommended range, using an image editing programme, such as our built-in Aviary feature, Adobe Photoshop, or free pixlr.com. To use Aviary, go to your Yola File Manager (Site > File Manager), click on a picture, and choose the Aviary option from the drop down menu in the top right corner.

Please let us know if you have more questions or need further help.

Hello Jameson

I found two websites in your Yola account. In the File Manager of your ess.er icon site I was able to display all image thumbnails, and your images also seem to display fine on your site.

In the File Manager of your argonews site I first only saw the file names, but no thumbnails. This is a glitch in our File Manager that we're busy fixing. However, it doesn't mean that your images aren't there, or won't work on your site. If you click on one of the files and then on the magnifying glass symbol in the bottom right corner of the image, you will see a larger version of your image, and File Manager will load all thumbnails.

Please clear your browser's cache, and try again.

If you still can't view or use your uploaded pictures, can you please take a screenshot of what you see in your Yola File Manager, and post it here?

Thanks for replying Stefan,
it seems that the problem was in connection with the file name of an image
provided by a client to the ARGONEWS site.
"ILA_2012_banner_468x60_static.jpg" was not accepted as having content
by the file manager while after renaming it "ILA_2012_banner_s.jpg" all
worked fine. Found it out by trial & error.

Thank you for your feedback, Jameson. Yes, this issue can be caused by file names. You shouldn't use any special characters in the file names, but as I didn't see any in your Yola File Manager, I wasn't thinking of this option.

However, I personally always avoid creating too long file names (actually just because for my own sake to keep legibility) and using any special characters, no matter if I work with Yola or any other software. The only non-alphanumeric character I use is a dash (-).

Still, we are aware that there is sometimes an error with the Yola File Manager that we're busy working on. It doesn't seem to stop the availability of the pictures, though, so at least you won't lose any functionality.

Let me know if you should experience more problems, and we'll investigate further.
