I had a website (anothersignificantforty) which I paid for. A year later I couldn't afford it. One of the last entries I posted was about being really sick w some long term illnesses. I was SHOCKED AND APALLED when I logged on and my site is GONE. Surely with 3 years of work, there is (or had better be) a way to get my writing/blog back.

Hello Amy,

Your site file should still be in your Yola account. What may have happened is that your custom domain may have expired and/or your hosting plan may have expired.

You need to pay up for your hosting plan and check the status of the domain. The status of your account will be seen when you login to your Yola Account. If the domain has subsequently been released it will hopefully be available again for re-purchase.

After doing these things you should then be able to re-publish your site to your domain.

Hello Amy

I've got good news for you: Sites actually never get lost with Yola unless users delete them. And your site is still there! It's just in a different Yola account you have. Please log into your other Yola account to find your site.

The bit of a bad news is: Your domain expired in January which means that it's no longer registered under your name. You will need to try and repurchase it in your Yola account to get it back. When domains expire, they are locked for 2-3 months, and then get available to everyone for repurchase again. I've just checked the availability of your domain, and it shows as available right now for me. If you want it back, please be quick and re-register it from your My Yola. Just click on one of the "Customize your domain" links, e.g. on the "Domains" page. Once purchased, you will be opted into auto-renewal, so you will not lose your domain again.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
