Hi, It's been months since I've created & published my site, and yet it doesn't appear in the Google search at all. I've done everything recommended (webmaster tools, submitted url to Google etc). The webmaster tools shows the site is indexed. However, no results in Google when I do a search. What else can I do? Does it have anything to do with the fact that my account have a free status? The other free website I created thru Yola , actually SynthaSite quite a while ago has no problems. Please help.

If Google Webmasters says it's indexed. It is. you can find out by googling site:http://mysite.com - you'll see all your indexed pages there. Your problem is not getting it indexed, but rather increasing the rank of index. Doing a "search" and finding your site in Google would mean you rank well. I have about 30 sites. And about 20 of them, if I searched a key word, or even the name of the website, you won't find it on the first 100,000 results.

Try focusing on SEO, read some articles. Don't worry about meta keywords, they're useless now. Focus on UNIQUE content. Google penalizes for copying other content. Focus on avoiding black hat tricks, such as hiding keywords by using the same color for texts as the background. Read some SEO articles. I guarantee, reading these articles, even if it takes weeks on end, will be more beneficial than using those weeks to build content.

Hello Nina

Although other Yola users with a yolasite subdomain have managed to achieve a good rank in search results, an important aspect to improve your SEO is publishing your website to a custom domain name. You can register your own domain with Yola from as little as USD11.95 per year for a .com domain.

I'd love to pay $11.95 to register the custom domain, but then I would have to pay hosting as well, which I can not afford at this moment.

I can see that your site is indexed in google, 5 pages to be precise...

https://www.google.com/search?num=100...

Now, if you search "Missing in the Land of Gods" in Google, your Yola site doesn't show on the first 100 results, but for me, the seventh result was a video on YouTube posted by you - that's a start. Work on SEO and you will definitely get ranked. There's been times (with a yola created site) that my images got indexed well and was getting me 400 daily visitors. Be sure to ad alternative text to images, it will increase the odds of getting traffic to your website.
