Hi Dan,

Sites can look different on different screens because of their resolution settings or browsers being used.

Please could you point out a particular page where the text and pictures are not lined up and let us know which browser's you're using?

Hey, this happens to me as well, and as Marije says, it all changes depending on OS, browser, screen resolution, etc. Here's some work-arounds that I've found useful:

  • for vertical spacing between page elements, I prefer the br tag (line break) whenever possible, over using margins and paragraph tags. br tags seem to be the most consistent across browsers and the rest.

  • when dropping html code for something that I want neatly and precisely placed (for example, a slide show, image, or widgets) I use the text widget - you click on html view within the text widget, paste the code, and type in the br tags to include spacing above or below the element. it also allows you to insert margins for horizontal spacing.

you can check out my homepage and blog to see how it's worked out. I've tested my site in Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Safari (on a PC) and Firefox, Safari, and Seamonky (on a Mac) and it seems to hold up fairly decently. hope this is helpful!
