namecheap domain owner. Can I change the hosting from my current host to Yola and how?

Getting my domain hosted with my current host server was very easy inside the namecheap account area. I just had to sumbit my hosts DNS address which were two of them starting with NS1 and NS2 respectively.

However it does not want to accept the IP address that Yola is telling me to submit. "We encountered some issues when setting nameservers. The reported problem is: Invalid Name Server: 208.75.208.172". Have read something on Yola about creating an A card but don't know how.

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

Looks like Namecheap requires Nameservers instead of A records. Since your domain was purchased elsewhere Yola does not provide you name servers as we are not the managers of your domain, we simply host your site. We only provide you with an IP address.
Namecheap needs to provide you with your name servers and you then point your site to us by setting up A records, as per the steps on this link:
Publish to a domain you already own.

If Namecheap does not give you the option to create/edit your A Records, we suggest using the services of ZoneEdit. There are instructions on using ZoneEdit on this tutorial.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply Kershnee.

Cannot find a facility on Namecheap that allows me to create/edit A records. Will try the ZoneEdit method, it should work.

Thanks
