changing banner to show above nav bar, is it possible? Also do you see my nav bar clearly, a friend says hers doesnt show well; her comments "About the nav bar ... I don't know if it's just my computer or not, but the top line is partially chopped off, and the white type on the second line gets lost in the picture of the red flower-looking thingies. Maybe something more prominent? "
how would the second line get cut off by the pic of the chilis when that's in my banner? Her computer or a problem with my site? sorry for soooo many questions!

wow - it looks like a different site from a week ago - excellent work.
the nav bar shows fine for me, i would rather just see 1 line of pages in it but it shows fully - no offense to your friend but her computer must be ill :)

The other option you have is dragging all the pages out of the menu and making your own nav bar - see http://littleus.synthasite.com

Rizan, if i was you i would make all the pages in the nav to do with food, ie. eggs, salads, soups all the way to Fish into 1 nav link then from a new page make links(images or text) which navigate to the now hidden food pages.
Your home page will be left with a cleaner look, I think if you want to keep the navigation pages you should think about moving them all ot of the menu and making a vertical menu instead. The 2 lines of nav links doesnt really work on that style.

Hi Rizan

Lemme see if I can help make things a little clearer.

Lee was suggesting that your menu bar may not suit your template as you have so many links. He suggested either making a vertical menu bar (horizontal is what you have now)
e.g.
Eggs
Salads
Soups
Fish
Comments

or streamlining it by creating links from one place.

e.g.
Food (main link) opens up to - Eggs
- Salads
- Soups

Does that help?

I've been playing around and I think I figured out what you and Lee are saying, or maybe I simply did something all together different.

littleus, I love, love, love your site, so adorable!

I omitted all the categories salads, soups etc and I put a recipe tab instead. Under the recipe tab I've place all the categories and within that is the individual recipes. Then I linked back to the recipes page from each category page.....does this make sense? I think I did what Lee was suggesting.

So cute GG's picture, 100 wow!

I know! A hundred!!! That sure is a long time to be living your life.

Your site is really looking good Rizan! Another tip to help make your site look a little more professional, is to make sure the images in your banner is all the same size and location. You have some where the images go right to the edge and others that don't. Also, I would drag the homepage banner just a smidgen bigger so that you don't see the dark brown line at the bottom of your banner or else make it smaller so that the dark brown frame shows up all around your banner.

It looks much better Rizan - are you happy with the outcome?

Sorry my suggestion was unclear, i am good with ideas, not always explaining them!
Me and Littleus are a good team and im glad we helped.

So do you want more work to do? --

1. Your window titles need improving

2. All your home page images need reszing - it can be done in Picnik, the size they are on screen is fine but the actual image file is still HUGE. -- even the favicon is way to big, its SLOWING the load speed of the page.

3. Think about moving the reciepe widget on the home page into the reciepe page.

4. Normally underlined text is thought to be a link - on your home page you have links and plain text underlined - maybe think about changing the underlined plain text into Bold or something else instead.

Lee. (PS - your site is really moving in a good direction - keep it up.)

Hi Litlleus, the picture issue that you mentioned is actually driving me nuts, I'm not intentionally doing it. And when I am in edit mode it looks like I have it covering but I preview page and bam there is that line......sometimes it works sometimes not.
Lee, I'm sure your instructions where fine, I just have no idea what I'm doing so I guess I'm a bit slow. OK, when you say window titles what do you mean? Are you referring to the "about" "recipes" etc?
item 2, yes the page is very slow and I cant figure out what the best size should be for the photos, also I was under the impression (not sure why) that the banner pics are automatically sized, is that correct?
Yes, excellent idea regarding recipe widget.
Speaking of fav icons, you can actually see this....I cant see it anywhere and read somewhere that IE doesn't support favicons!
Yes, absolutely the two of you are an excellent team. Oh thanks for the extra work :o) I started this little project thinking piece of cake, whats to building a web site.....
