Ive been with my current ecommerce host for over 10 years and my customer database is about 3000 customers. I need to import that customer csv file, just like I would a product csv file. Cant ecwid do it, even if I have to pay for it ?

Hi,

Ecwid don't have a tool dedicated for this purpose but it has been requested before.

I was hoping that their Single Sign On API would be a work around but it isn't suitable for a Yola built site as it needs access to the Yola server and other data that is not stored by Yola and isn't accessible by users.

You maybe able to contact an Ecwid developer and see if they can help?

Hi greatvintagejewelry

My colleague Brianna was also looking into this per your email and has reached out to our contacts at Ecwid to see if we can offer any other suggestions. We'll follow up with you there when we learn more.

Hi there,

I did speak with Ecwid Support and was able to gather some valuable information, I hope you find helpful. Ecwid has explained a workaround that would allow a 100% simulation of import; however, it does require programming.

They are confident that if you hire a programmer to develop a script, the script will be able to take customer information from your database and pass it to Ecwid via their APIv3.

It is suggested that the programmer you hire familiarizes themselves with the Ecwid API here: http://api.ecwid.com/#api-playground. Once familiarized, this article will cover what is needed to create the utility script needed to import your database: http://api.ecwid.com/#create-customer.

Ecwid Support has passed along the suggestion to their product team for future consideration.  So it seems that your options at this point are to hire a programmer to create the required script or wait for Ecwid to implement the feature.
