Can someone recommend a free banner maker software? I'd like to create a banner merging 2 images horizontally using a fading effect and also add my logo.

Well if you are just working with pics alone I would recommend you use Photoscape. If you want to get something to work with flash animation you could try Powerbullet Presenter.

One more thing. Are you trying to do something like this banner? It's from a church website. I think it's pretty cool. I haven't tried it yet. I like the animation and the logo in the banner. http://ebc.org.jm

Isn't cool how regular folks try to help each other. Yola is a cool site for community involvement for sites. :-)

use photoshop.com, picnik ... that might help. Photoscape is really helpful to merge pics. I would merge/combine the first two pics you want. save the pic. then add the logo to the pic.

Xheader could be helpful also.

Hi rshafaki,

We know of a couple banner making programs that we feel work well: Banner Fans and Banner Fans, (this is not a free program, but they do have a free trial available).

Also, here is a link to another thread where a group of users were discussing this topic and gave lots of good ideas: What is the best banner making program.

Hope one of these work out for you!

I thought that it wasn't possible to use Flash on a Yola site - was I wrong? We can use Flash?

Hello Keara

If you have a flash file, you can definitely add this to your site. Here's how:

1) Upload your .swf file. You can do this by clicking on the File Manager button.
2) Drag and drop a HTML Widget onto your site, where you would like to see your flash presentation, and paste the following HTML inside it:

<object width="200" height="400">
<param name="movie"value="resources/myswffile.swf">
<embed src="resources/myswffile.swf"width="200"height="400"/>
</object>

3) Then substitute "myswffile.swf" in the code above - in both places, with the name of the file you uploaded, and you should see the flash movie appear when you close the HTML editor. You'll need to play around with the width and height values in the text above, to suit your movie's needs.
4) Remember to include any folder names in the file path if your file is stored in a folder in the File Manager. For example: "resources/Flash folder/myswffile.swf"

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.

Sanja, that's great news and wow, what a wonderful, thorough reply! Thank you very much for going to so much trouble. Actually, I have no experience at all with Flash and had tended to stay away from it because I thought it could not be used on Yola. (Where did I get that idea?) Now that I know otherwise, I'll have to start learning about it.
