Though my site is still taking its baby steps, I want you all see one of its pages and let me know about its feel.. like how it looks, any suggestions, changes needed, its design, overall feel of site.
I will be adding few more things on it like 'related articles links'..
If you notice any technical error on this page do tell me, (p.s.'bookmark us' button is not working)

And yeah comments on formatting, layout and CONTENT is also welcome :)

You've done a wonderful job already with the one page that you're showing. I love the look of your site - simple and beautiful - perfect for what your site is for.

I notice that on the top, you still have some navigation text. As you have a vertical navigation menu, I would suggest removing these by going into your edit menu, then put the pages into your "out menu".

I would also make your RSS image button a bit smaller. It seems to overpower your site.

As your content is a bit lengthy, there are a couple of ideas that you could maybe try to do. I would suggest making an anchor tag so that your readers can just click on the button "return to top" to reach your navigation buttons without having to scroll. Another idea is to create subpages to help separate your content into more manageable reading bits.

For example
Skincare (main page)
- Masks (this is a sub-page)
- Mudpacks (this is a sub-page)

I look forward to seeing more of your site when it's closer to completion. I think I'm gonna have to try some of those skin care remedies!

Thanks alot Liittleus. I will surely make the RSS image button smaller :-)
the navigation on top, is manually done.. It would change on everypage.. it would help the readers to navigate through the categories and subcategories in which the page is included. But still i would give it some piece of my brains to come up with a better option :)
Anchor links... Oh man.. I missed them.. Thanks alot for pointing out!
And I will start working on the rdivision of content on pages soon :)

What about adding using a drop-down menu? This way everything is contained in one spot?

Still like the look and agree with littleus in that it really fits what your site is about....I think I would drop the links right next to the search or move them....It sort of crowds that part of your page.

I will be having more than 60-70 pages on my site..
And there are lot of pages which fit into more than one category..
For example, if i make a page for MUD PACKS..for example: i can categorize it into 'homemade packs' 'packs for oily skin' both.
And Drop down menu whatever i have come across, they kind of ruin the look. I dont want an ugly looking website when i own a site which talks about looking good! ha ha!
(the above words just made me recollect how i was used to ping Monique almost everyalternate day to get 'girly' templates :P *waiting for moniqu's reply*)

I understand what you mean about the look of a drop down menu - it's not always pretty. I may have something that might work for you. Lemme work on it and see and then I'll get back to you.

Okay Monica. Here's a very very simple idea - just text here but click on each menu heading. You can beautify the look with your custom images. Take a look here: http://rumballchick.synthasite.com/mo...

You dont need our help - the sites great. :) - im going to show my girlfriend it later - i think she'll love the face masks.

Its hard to review a site which is underconstruction... this is what i see...

I look at a PC screen over 8 hours a day, im in my 8th hour today and im finding the home page text just a shade to light.

On the page you link above, you have used a 2 column widget for the masks, i would use 3 2-column widgets on top of each other, each mask in its own column - it will line them up nicely.

The rss button is beautiful, perhaps a touch to large.

Remeber to add favicons to every page - i use this code to counter act cross browser problems -- <!--
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://YOURSITE/resources/favicon.ico">

-->
You need to change the url to point at your own file - add the code to a html widget at the top of the page - the image needs to be a .ico to make a image into a .ico go here http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/

Hope this helps - im really looking foward to seeing this site when its finished, sorry i dont have more time to look around.

Lee.

@alex - you have to clear the favorite icon field in the content sidebar, or it reads that and not your code. If its not that you must be doing something wrong. talk to me about it on your transparnet/hover thread.

Hi Monica,

I'm going back almost a year here but I remember the days when you
were designing your site with the Swanky template. You were hesitant
to show it off until it was done. You've obviously noticed the new
template styles since your "study" leave of absence.

I'm so happy that you are back with us and are wanting to continue
where you left off. It's great that you are involving the community
this time round with your (early) site development.

You obviously have a knack for website design and you are off to
a great start with your home page. I think it looks GREAT !!

Hello Monica,

I really enjoy the clean lines of your site. I think that you have retained all of last year's skills and the simplicity is stunning.

I like all of the suggestions and comments made for consideration. I noticed with interest Lee's suggestion of the harsh contrast after staring at a screen all day and that would be one thing i would consider. I think that your page would allow for a less than black font colour to be used and to soften the contrast and iatrogenic glare.

I have here another script for the Google site search facility which is somewhat less branded (ie. no Google logo) but does the same thing and is the same search facility. You may like to consider it.

<!--
<form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search">

<div style="border:0px solid black;padding:4px;width:20em;">
<table border="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr><td>
<input type="text" name="q" size="25"
maxlength="255" value="" />
<input type="submit" value="Google Search" /></td></tr>
<tr><td align="center" style="font-size:75%">
<input type="checkbox" name="sitesearch"
value="beautybliss.synthasite.com" checked /> Site search BeautyBliss<br />
</td></tr></table>
</div>

</form>
-->

I trust that your first year of study went well and that you are able to enjoy a bit of time for yourself at this time.
