Hello All,

I have setup a contact form, no problem with the setting-up, it so easy to use on Yola.

My question is, if a user presses the submit button without filling-out any of the fields the email is still sent with no data, is it possible to mark fields mandatory i.e. the field must be completed before submitting.

If not, any suggestions.

Many Thanks,

Hi Richard

Great to hear that the Yola Form Widget was easy to use. However, it does have a few limitations as it is one of our newest widgets and some features are still being developed. When visitors to your site click the submit button and do not add details, you will receive a blank email. The Yola Form does not yet have the ability to add mandatory fields.

I do understand how you may need to have this on your forms. There are 2 other form widgets you can use with Yola that will allow you to add mandatory fields. We have tutorials that illustrate how to do this step-by-step, here: Adding Form Assembly and Wufoo.

Please try either of these third-party widgets to see if they work for you.

If you have any more questions about this, please let us know.

Many thanks!

Would this help Nazlie ... (since i have the same problem)

Highlight the form - view source code - paste source code into your text editor - add snippet of code to where you would like to have mandatory fields - copy your new code - remove the widget from your page - paste your new code into an HTML widget ...

would this work ?

hope to hear from you soon ;)

Hello Rynaldo,

Thank you for the suggestion. It is a bit more complex to set up mandatory fields. We will be to pass this along to our Product Team for consideration.

In the meantime, Nazlie has made 2 great suggestions which we hope you can use.
