I am trying to activate blog comments on my site. I signed up with Disqus but I don't know what to do from there. By the way, what is the "dashboard"? Please give me detailed instructions on where to find it, because I can't find a page on my site that looks like the dashboard images I've seen in blogs.

Hello Victoria

Please take a look at our tutorial on how to add the Disqus comments with your blog as they provide really helpful screenshots: Adding comments with Disqus.

If you still have trouble with this, please share your blog URL so that I may take a look and help you further.

Thank you Sanja!! Yola's instructions are way better. What helped me most was: "Please note: The comment box will only show up on your published site when you click on one of your post titles and scroll to the bottom of the post." I may have had it installed all along, but never saw it. You might want to highlight this PS for future users. Bless you!!

I'm not very savvy at all this code stuff. In the Disqus help, it says, "go to Blog Manager, Settings, and embed the code in the page. What page? The "Settings" page? In the box under #3? Because if I do that, then the #3 on the image page says to paste the "comment count code" before the closing tag. Well, there is not a tag in the code I just embedded. Then, #4 on the image page says to "append #disqus_thread to the end of permalinks. The comment count code will replace the text of these links with the comment count." Well, there are no permalinks in that code I just embedded either.

Okay, so my blog URL is http://sitebuilder.yola.com/ide/index...

It sure would help if you could just do this for me, because I don't seem to be able to follow help instructions. :-(

Hello Victoria

I'm sorry to hear that this has been quite a frustrating process. Instead of looking at the Disqus instructions, can you please follow the instructions we give in our tutorial that is complete with screenshots?

If you are still struggling with this, please send an email to support@yola.com with your Disqus account login information and the site that you're trying to set this up on.
