Hello Patrick and Mark
We do have Premium Styles with a vertical menu and an editable banner:
-
Blue Frost and Dreamweaver have a vertical main menu and a horizontal submenu. The banner image is editable, Dreamweaver has a smaller banner area which is perfect for a logo and also editable. The background is editable as well.
-
Applified offers a horizontal main menu and vertical submenu. It also has a smaller banner area which is editable. The background is editable as well.
The banner areas can be resized by editing the
Site CSS if desired.
According to internet experts and researchers (2010), horizontal menus seem to be the better choice for a more user-friendly and attractive website.
@Patrick with regard to a three column layout: As your menu is optically in the very left column of your website by default, you will just need to either choose the two-column layout from the "Layout" tab in the lower menu bar of the Sitebuilder, or add one Column Divider Widget to create two columns. For the latter option, in order to have the same width of for the columns on every page, you could create a default page which contains all your default elements with the right column size and spacing, and then use this page for every new page you add by choosing the "Save Page As" option from "Page" in the upper menu bar of the Sitebuilder. For the first option, you will just need to choose the same layout type for every page.
@Mark with regard to your current main menu: It's not recommendable to have a lot of links in your main menu. It should only include the most important, central pages of your website. It is likely that even if you displayed your current main menu links in a vertical menu, there wouldn't be a lot of visitors who would read through the whole menu list to decide where to go on your website. When I look at your menu links, I could imagine that some of them are not real main pages, but could be subordinated to some main menu links as
submenus. This will probably make your website much more user-friendly and look more professional.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
