Synthasite gurus, take a moment if you dont mind to look at my updated lithuanian site. www.ahouseofcourage.synthasite.com I dont want to go much further until I know I am building this one properly. I like my screwy tabs on the side..but would really appreciate any technical or other constructive criticism. The site is published but it is not linked to anything. Once I get it just right, it will replace the old site. Thanks to any who reply.

Hello njoyn,

Wow!. They're some atmospheric pages! Beautifully rich.

I would reduce the file size of your Story image, currently very big at nearly 2 Mb. It can be reduced probably to 200 Kb and still retain the clarity and crispness. That will allow it to open in users browsers much more quickly. Piknic can do this. if you are simply do the setting up now and haven't gotten around to it. Tell me to get lost!

I've logged your blog and looking forward to your stories.

Outstandingly beautiful looking site.

Can't wait for the instalments on its development you have to keep us informed. Your blog will do it!

I'm very impressed with your presentation, and think it looks very professional. Which Synthasite Template did you use?

Sincerely,

the very first one...let me look...TASTELESSLY, the first color also. I checked them all and for me this one seemed to be the best with the feeds, blog, larger heading etc. I bought the rights to the art work and will get the credits up eventually but the coloring is done by a professional digital scrapbooker. The kits come color combined. It was a wonderful find and well worth the small amount of money spent.

Hey girl I have been under a bus ( I mean the weather) lately and I did not have much time to do anything but then saw your thread and thought great job girl... Really keeps looking better every time I see it.

As you are the perfectionist you are I saw your new navigation buttons and really liked them but then remembered that the generator you used did not have a predefined or adjustable size as it was really not intended for many buttons and each one when generated is different then the one before.

So I took the liberty of creating a new set with extra spaces before and after the text to allow for proper placement and cropping then resizing later. A few hours later and I am spent... I saved then imported into Publisher then saved the page as a JPEG then opened in Office Picture manager to do all my cropping and resizing.

Hey if you like them feel free to use them and if you don't that's OK also...

Going back to bed. ;)

Oh Mr Ed Honeybear whatever it is you want to be called now...lol...I do hope that you feel better soon and really appreciate you taking a look at this for me. I am also very tired and tried to process what you have put up but it wont compute tonight. I will take a look again tomorrow afternoon after I put in my orders and see if I can get this to process for me. Thanks so much!

Hey girl I already did all the images. All you need to do if you want them is to save the bottom images for the page buttons. I re-sized them to fit in the space you have yours scaled to.

I simply thought it was easier to do then tell and had promised last week that I would help...

Looks great.....Did you use gamma correct to get the different colors on the backgrounds?

Are you asking me that? ha. I have no clue what gamma correct is. The backgrounds were purchased (I believe she used a GIMP like program) and I edited them a bit in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. I have yet to figure out how to use picnik as suggested previously. I even tried creating an account but in the end stick with the tools I most understand.

Well you will have to let me in on the gamma correct. I like having the picnik to edit my mistakes that I find at the last minute. Every little bit helps. I just couldnt figure it out very well. The Gimp is getting better for me. Thanks for remembering and helping through that river a bit.

Absolutely beautiful! I love the banner and background images and the custom navigation! I look forward to seeing how you develop this site. It is going to be totally awesome!

I recommend left aligning the text on your homepage instead of centering it. It will look neater and more professional and be easier to read this way.

You are all so helpful and skilled here. My website @ Synthasite is so basic looking I sure would love to dress it up like you've done. The problem I am struggling now for weeks is that I have a lot of articles and need a left-side Navigation Bar. I also love "Tastelessly" with that lovely banner and wish to have that on my site, yet this template places the Navigation Bar on the top no matter what I've tried to do to move it. I must be doing something wrong since you have a left-side bar Navigation on your site. I have tried all of the templates and the one called "Capsicum" is the only one that has the space allowing my navigation bar and articles.
My site url is http://hopefrombeyond.synthasite.com/

Any kind of help would be appreciated.
Thank you,

LillyHFB

Hi Lilly

To get the left hand navigation bar... you have to do a bit of work. So roll up your sleeves.. and here we go!

You need to make buttons or a menu with a menu generator. There are lots of free button or menu generators.

Some suggestions:
www.cooltext.com
www.isdntek.com
www.buttongenerator.com/index.php

Once you've made your buttons or menu - you will need to link them each button to each one of your site's pages.

Then, you can go into your site manager, click on "edit menu" Drag all the "in menu" stuff into "out menu" side. This will get rid of your navigation on the top.

I know this stuff can be overwhelming.. so please don't hesitate to ask. Perhaps you can start a new thread on this so that we can help you specifically instead of hounding in on njoynlife's thread.

Yes it is rather overwhelming, but thank you so much for your help! Wish that Synthasite offered more side-bar template styles, which would solve my problem quicker and easier. I'll take this over to a new thread, too, if I can't get this figured out. Thank you.

Sincerely,
LillyHFB
