wix.com has some of the best Buttons and effects like when you click or hover over the button it flashes and makes a sound or something cool like that but the Yola editor is so limited it doesn't let you free position your pages; boxes and widgets they all go in a column that looks horrible after a couple of widgets they don't stay strait . and there is not enough room on one page because it makes the page way to long.

Also the themes are able to be made custom. Please Consider more features this site is just not ready for me to recommend to friends.

Hi Chris

I'm sorry that Yola is not meeting up to your standards. First of all.. I believe that wix.com is a flash-based program. This may contribute to why things are set up differently between the two.

Yola has this fabulous HTML widget which allows you to add neat things like buttons and effects. You do need to know HTML but the support on this forum is really good and we can help people to implement things like that.

The positioning of the pages could be limiting if you aren't aware of the tools offered or have learned to use to their fullest potential. One of my favourite tools is the 2-column widget which is found under your "Content". You can drag this over and then drag another 2-column widget over and place inside one of the columns. Now you have 3 columns. The middle bars are draggable, allowing you to adjust the size of the columns as needed. (You can add as many 2-columns widgets as you want)

Some of the templates can be narrow but there are others that are quite wide, such as NoFrills. You can also use the margin positioning found in the "Properties" to push your widgets outside of the content box area. The content box area is simply there as guide and is the best screen size resolution so that people don't have to scroll back and forth.

Yola is coming out with new features tomorrow! I encourage you to keep learning how to use Yola and we will be happy to assist you along the way. I think you will find that there's a whole wealth of potential to be unlocked coming your way!

Please take a look at Yola's featured sites to see the creativity people have done with their site using Yola's site building tools: http://www.yola.com/featured_sites

You can also refer to http://forsite.sythasite.com to see how people have manipulate the templates.

I hope these comments have been helpful. Please don't hesitate to ask further questions if needed.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us!

You may want to take a look at the two column widget (located in the right-hand sidebar) is a great way to change the look and design of your page; works very well for organizing a page. You can add widgets into the two-columns, or even more two-column widgets inside the two-column widget.

The center divider of the two-column widget can be dragged to the left or right to change the size of the columns. You can also edit the margins by clicking on the Properties tab in the right-hand sidebar. You'll see top, bottom, right, left margin entry box settings displayed that you can edit to see how your text and and/or images are altered.

Hope this helps a bit!
