I'm sure you get this question 24/7 on every signup, but I got my free .ca domain, which is great and all but now I want to know when it will be on the web. The sitebuilder claims my site is live, but I don't see the site working yet, does this take 24 hours, 48 hours, 3 days? how long to get my site live for real..

Hello,

As soon as you press the green "Publish to the Web" button, your site will be published online.

It sounds as though you may be searching for your site using a search engine such as Google, is that correct?

It does take a while for websites to be indexed by search engines. In the meantime, you will be able to locate your account by putting the domain in the address bar at the top of your browser.

If you are struggling with this, please share your domain with us. Thanks!

Hi Brianna,
In fact, I did not try to Google my site, as a brand new site, I think I'd need some some massive amount of "search engine optimization" well depending on which keywords I was aiming to show up under.

It turns out there was about 15-45 minutes time , just during the initial creation of my domain where I would get the page not found error. After that initial setup it was fine, guess all it takes is some patient though documentation of that startup time could be helpful to some.

Thanks
