I don't have the option for CNAME, and also, is there a way I can do it without buying a domain from yola?
Could I use a domain provided by google, or would that not be as effective?
I need to know soon because I want to get on and get the apps account confirmed.

Hi Will,

You can use Google Apps with a domain bought from any domain registrar that offers DNS Management on your domain (including Google). It's probably more useful if you visit their site for more info: http://www.google.com/apps/.

Just hover over "Apps additions" and then click "Standard Edition" unless you are buying GA Premier.

Hi Will!

Nathan is correct. The Standard Edition of Google Apps is free. You will need to contact your domain registrar to see how you can set this up with your domain name.

i know its free, I'm not a complete idiot, but the only ways to actually confirm it, as I have implied, is to pay money. I can upload a html file, and the only other option involves buying a domain. At the moment, i am registered with yola, so YOU are my domain registrar, and there isnt asnything on the help pages, and I've alrerady looked, and becuase of little "we want to make more money out of you" bits, you declined to mention in the help section that you need to buy a domain to confirm google apps, be it from yola or another source.
And nathan, I'm not an idiot, and I can look at the home page. How else did I sign up for it? Notice it says nothing about yola, If it did, i would be contacting Google.

Hi Will, you can get a free Dot TK domain. Also, do you have a custom domain set up with Yola? If so, what is it? If yhou have a custom domain, then you can just sign up with Standard edition with that domain and then add a CNAME in Yola to verify ownership and then add the MX records so the mail will be delivered correctly to all of the accounts on your domain. I hope you get it working!

Hi, you can't use a .yolasite.com domain for Google apps, but you can get a free .cz.cc domain name. I did for my website, and you can see the login page: http://mail.nathansmusicstudio.cz.cc/ I use Google Apps all the time, it is my primary email that I use. It works great, and you can create a support@yourdomain.cz.cc You can actually create up to 50 user accounts. So you can have one for everyone that you want to have one. Just visit www.nic.cz.cc and create a domain.

Also, you'll notice I have my .tk domain going to my cz.cc domain. If you go to http://www.nathansmusicstudio.tk, it automatically goes to .cz.cc because the cz.cc domain is the primary one. I also still have a .yolasite.com domain. www.nathansmusicstudio.yolasite.com But they all go to the .cz.cc one.

I forgot to mention, the .cz.cc is a free domain name. And cz.cc have DNS system where you can set up your DNS records that Google Apps gives you. Good luck! If you need any help with setting ti up, visit my website and click "Contact us" (not feedback!) on the side of the site. My site: www.nathansmusicstudio.cz.cc
