I am unable to use the new linking widget. Is anyone else having this problem? I can use all areas except being able to link to another page.

Hi James, what browser are you using? Is there something specific that happens when you try to link (other than the link not working).
I was just able to link to a page in my site with the link in the Chrome browser.

It doesn't matter what browser I use. It's the same for all of them.

Hi Jane,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Links are working here as well so any further information you can provide, as rose marie mentions above, would be awesome.

Do you see an error message? Is the problem specific to a text or image link?

Hopefully with some more information we'll be able to assist you!

There is no error message and the problem is solely on trying to link ANYTHING to a existing page. The box there you pick a page just blinks when I try to open it.

Hi Jane, Sorry I mixed up your name, I'm bumping this again, it sounds like there is somethings specific to your site that it causing this problem. The link function is so important that if it were system wide there would be lots of complaints on the forum. It works for me (no comfort to you of course) which makes me think the support staff will need to look at this again.

I assume that you took care of all the basics that the support folks always suggest - clearing cache, making sure your cookies are enabled.
Any chance you have access to the old text widget? I would assume not, but I sometimes forget that the old text widget is there on the legacy sites, the new text widget comes first and I have overlooked a few times.
Also, could you post the url for your site, the Yola folks will ask you to do that, so you can lay some of the groundwork for their digging into this for you.
I know how frustrating problems like this are, and they always seem to happen when there is a deadline.

Yes, I have completed all regular + cleaning jobs. I do have the old text widget but that has nothing to do with it. My url is www.moopaw.net

Hi Jane,

I see you have a number of sites in your account but I tested Moopaw for you, which is darling by the way! I was able to link to another page in your website using both the new Button Widget and the new Text Widget.

You do have access to the old Text Widget as Rose Marie asked and it also worked fine for me.

This does lead me to think it's a browser issue but it is odd that you are seeing it across all browsers.

Please do take a look at the initial troubleshooting section of this tutorial which mostly details the tips Rose Marie mentions above and let us know how that goes.

That is the site I tested and I was unable to replicate the error within your Sitebuilder. With your permission, I can go in and add it again and save the test so you can see it. I also would suggest trying from a different computer or network to see if that helps. Have you tried disabling any browser add-ons or online security applications you may use?

Also, I tested linking on your homepage with the link directing to your contact page. If you want to detail the page you are trying to add the link to and the page you are trying to link to, I can try to replicate it again.

The problem is solved. I had a virus. Although, I had done a virus scan, it didn't find this virus. I didn't think I had a virus because nothing else was affected. The virus is now completely cleared out and everything is working great. Thanks so much for all the help everyone has given me
