New navbar feedback

This was the only menu code I could understand so I thought I would try it out. I'd like some feedback and whether there are any other easy alternatives I could try out. Only problem is that when I click on a page in the menu, it opens a new page. Anyway of fixing this?

Well done Randy! You're really starting to get the hang of this stuff. :)

The reason why it's opening up in a new tab or window is because you have target="_blank"

Take a look at your code here:

<ul class="cssMenu cssMenum"> <li class=" cssMenui"><a
class=" cssMenui" href="http://www.mcran.com&quot;
target="_blank">Home</a></li>

You just need to get rid of that target="_blank" and your link will open up in the same window.

You will need to do this for each of your links.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.

See, purecssmenu is easy! ;) Looks nice except I don't care for the brownish mouseover color--I'm thinking the light green on the links to the right side might work as a mouseover. Just an opinion.

Thanks Diane!

Great idea. I agree with your color option and I will change it when I have a moment. Wasn't it you that originally told me about purecssmenu? It's very easy!!

Diane and Sanja,

Check my site now. I made the color change (Diane), and took out the _blank from the code (Sanja). Let me kknow if it works properly and looks somewhat functional :)

How can I center the menu on my pages and also how can I change the border that surrounds the menu?

Hi Randy,
You need to change the border-style:ridge;
to one of these options: http://www.quackit.com/html/codes/htm...

Not sure if it's the correct way, but I would center it in a div
Give me a sec to test it ...

Hmm...this seems trickier than I first thought Randy.
Can you supply me with the link where you got the code from?

P.S. Maybe there's a real simple way of doing this! Have you tried spacing it with a 2 column widget yet?

I know it is not the proper way to do this but until I get an answer how to senter my menu, I tried using a two column widget and it seems to look fine. Let me know if it looks good for you as well. www.mcran.com

Thanks Diane. I am thinking of creating a page on my test site where I can put menus so if I want to try another menu style, I can just go there and copy/paste the code into my live web site. Thanks for telling me about PureCSSmenu.com. Any other sites I should be aware of that will help me with my web site?

http://www.ricocheting.com has a good slide show generator and some other stuff plus you don't have to have a link or ad from them.

http://www.exploding-boy.com/2005/12/...
another easy css menu option, free to use and no link. (I like the ones with no links or ads ;))

http://www.audiopal.com/editor.html A nice free audio widget, I can't remember for sure if there's a link or not but I don't think there is.

http://www.emailmeform.com/ A very easy form maker. You can have five forms for free but there is a small link at the bottom--it's not bad though.

http://www.bannersketch.com A free banner generator with no watermark--I've only played around with this one on their site so I'm not sure how or if it works with Yola but it seems pretty straight forward.

http://icons.mysitemyway.com Lots of free icons

http://www.123-banner.com/ Another free banner maker--I believe they have a small link. They also have a slideshow creator.

http://repper.studioludens.com/ A very fun pattern maker for backgrounds.

And if you really want to waste your time go to: http://www.go2web20.net This is a directory of web 2.0 websites--over 65 pages worth but you can type in a keyword like "design" and it will filter them for you. Some interesting and useful stuff.
