Hi All

We have just rolled out another Yola release and we are very excited about this one!

When next you log into your accounts you will see some big changes whenever you:

1) Create a new site.
2) Change styles.

The new features include:

1) A new, improved style selector, to make it easier to browse for, preview and select the best style for your site.

2) Two new free styles: "Red Scribble" and "Bright Ideas"

3) Our first selection of beautiful, exclusive premium styles to bring extra flair and sophistication to your website. Easily toggle between "Free" and "Premium" styles to see all the options available to you. Preview the style, or even try it out before deciding whether you wish to make a purchase. Once you buy a premium style it gets added to your premium style collection and you can use it for all the sites in your account! SWEET!

We plan to add further improvements to the style library and the style selector soon, but for now we have taken yet another significant step towards making Yola the best website builder on the Internet!

We hope you like it!

Argggg why do this to the old bear? Especially now when I am already in pain (LOL)... Add such a great selection of premium styles and then tease me with the squared glass one...

Now I have to spend the free time I have this next month designing a new banner, footer and honeycomb menu to fit in the space provided. A total redesign and at a time I thought I was so close to finished. ;)

It's all good ;) I quite like the opaque border as it shows the golden honeycomb pretty awesomely and fits in perfectly with my text boxes with the opaque honeycomb background.

Don't have time to spend on the update now but that one will soon be mine...

Grrrrrr

Great site Diane... Love your layout and most informative content. The sliced apple is quite a nice touch. I am a honey man (no relationship to the bear of course ;) and go through a 2 liter bottle of the golden sweetness each week. I once was a sugar abuser and now that I have been on the honey kick for the last year I feel 100% better and the antioxidants are doing wonders as well. I do enjoy the grain breads though;)

I kept wanting to see a muted collage of fruits or a San Fran park or farmers market on the background. LOL but that's just me...

Yeah, I'm always working on the look of the site, but tonight was mostly a content loading night! I'm going to be editing the banner images soon so that they're more varied. I had an old version of my site with some great food photos and quotes over the top. I'll probably go back to something like that eventually!

Thanks- glad you enjoyed it.

I plan to do the shift over to the new squared glass style as soon as my life slows to a crawl and I can invest in many long and tedious nights redesigning my banner to fit in the space provided and then update my honeycomb menu and background with some cool jellied honeycomb icons. The style width is a little tighter than the one I currently use and it will be an "all pages" edit to get it right. Maybe a month of free time I think... There seems to always be something to change (LOL) to make it better.

Come far since the text filled images made with publisher and then uploaded to the site builder. Wow what memories those were and to see my site builder now awash with custom codes making this, that and the other do everything imaginable makes me laugh at my clueless former self. I have objects layered just about everywhere and the average user would scratch their heads at some of the stuff. Headaches gallor... ;)

The banner that you have now is fun, inviting and interesting so I hope you make the next one just as great...

Hey M

Could you pass along to the programmers that the new "Tall grass growing" style has a little issue with the grass on the footer being placed behind flash banners on the page. It looks kind of strange to see the banner placed on top when it should be on the bottom. There are ways to make the grass layered to the top but I believe for that the code for the grass must be placed last in the page and not first as it is with CSS. Flash has a sticky problem with finding ways to the top regardless what you do. ;)

Thanks

Thanks for reporting this. Do you have an example for me? Will definitely pass this on, but it has better chance of getting attention if I have a screenshot, or the code for the flash banner so that I can give steps to replicate.

Sorry the flash video is so large but I had to capture the entire screen and it makes it a larger file if you do. Let the movie buffer all the way before you begin watching.

I show the site builder in the beginning and the previewed site after... I am not ready to release the URL of the site I was using when I first noticed it so I set up a temp one with one of my flash objects on it to demonstrate.

http://www.screencast.com/users/mreds...

The bug is with all flash that I use on the site and not just this one...

As you know I was the first to play around with layering objects off page on the footer and header and have run into this before. I think I got around it by ensuring that the image which floated was always listed last and therefor always layered on top. Something to bear in mind...

I stand corrected. Nothing seems to trump a flash now and even my placing a layered object last does not place it above a SWF media or the grass.

The code your guys are using ensures that nothing can be placed atop the grass. Sad indeed.

Still the flash remains top dog. Can you ask what embed code could be used to pull the flash down under the grass footer as that seems the best bet right now.

Hmmm they must have the z set to 100 on the grass and something else added which makes it top all other codes placed on the page regardless their location and z. Well except of course for the SWF

I am giving up for now...

Arggg I hate coding. LOL

OK Problem solved...

Please pass along this edited code to those who have issues in the future with the flash appearing on top and they want to pull it down a layer.

The code did not like the forums even with the encoder so I put it on a new page...

http://www.honeybearplayhomes.com/fla...

The first four images are in the site builder

These two are previewed site

As you can see this new code even fixes the flash on top of the site builder toolbar which has always been an issue with us who use flash media...
