I have changed my background, each time I change it the background appears but without giving me the option to save it. Also when I go to preview the background does no show at all. Can someone advise as to what the problem could be please?

Many thanks
Ps. I used the same size bg as what was on the template.

Hi Tracy welcome..

It does not ask you to save just prior to preview? becuase if changes are not saved this option should appear. And is your re-published site showing the new BG?

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your reply. My re-publish wasn't showing it but after an hour or 6 (yikes) I finally sussed how to wangle it. I edited ccs and hey presto there it is :-)

Love how easy Yola is to work with! I'm just not sure I've got the background right. I've not long started on the design, about a week now. Need to tweak my other pages then I can get cracking and add what I need to.

I'm a tad worried that my home page may load slower due to my own design BG etc. Would you mind taking a look please, I'd appreciate a bit feedback on my design and also would like to know if I've managed to get page to load quickly.

Hello Tracy

Lovely background and lovely website! Your site loads quickly for me.

I'm not quite sure, so do you still have a problem with your background? Actually it shouldn't be necessary that you use the Site CSS to add a background, but of course this works as well.

I have checked your Sitebuilder, and I can open the Background dialogue box without problems:

As you can see, the changes you added to your Site CSS are reflected in the Background Editing dialogue box as well. If you click on "OK", your changes will be saved. If you tick "Apply to all pages", you will add your background to each page.

So this dialogue box should work this way in case you want to change your background in future.

Tips: The font size of your navigation links is a bit small because you use a busy font. I'd suggest to increase the font size there. Also, it's not recommendable to have more than one line for your navigation menu bar (unless it's submenus). Try to just add the really important and main pages of your website to your navigation. Create submenus if you need more, or your custom sub navigation by e.g. using the Custom Panel Widget. Here is an example for a horizontal tab solution on a Yola website (it's German, but fine for showing the design):

Hope this helps!
