Let's see if I can get this straight, you had a page titled "something". You added a new page today. So the first page was overwrote. Now...did you save the page and or did you just click out of the browser before it completely change?

Yes it was saved. I am using style 1. I had a row of page headings at the top and a new line started underneath, this has now disappeared? Synthasite has suggested I change the page style as horizontal headings means less headings can fit. Bit of a bummer as I was kinda liking the look

Hi Morgan,

There are no limits to the amount of pages you may have on your site, you cna have as many as you like.

You can overwrite a page if you create a new one and give it the same name as an existing page. A message will open asking if you would like to replace the old page with the new one - could that be what happened?

Hi Marije,no that is not what I have done,I create a new name and new page and after I have 6 pages it just overwrites one of the previous. When I say overwrites it,I can still view my old page in the drop down menu at the top and I can still view it in manager. It just overwrites it at the top of the page. As in the old heading "disappears" and is replaced by the new one?
Therefore I still hacve access to the page but a customer wouldn't have access as there is no heading?
Thanks
Morgan

Hi morgan,

It sounds to me that you have too many pages in your menu, and your menu can't support them all, which is why some are disappearing.

Are you able to post your URL so that I can confirm this?

Hi Ruth,
I haven't published it to the web yet.Is that what I need to do before I can give you the URL?
Sorry,I am a complete novice at the moment!

Hi morgan

A thought came to me and I recall another member experiencing the same thing and as it turned out she wasn't loosing pages after all. You see, she had a black menu with white letters and a white site background and as she added pages her previous pages in her vertical menue dropped down into the white background.

Could you Publish your site and post your URL for 10 minutes while I try something

Hi morgan

You can publish your site and unpublish at any time...

Using your fellow members here the forums is a great way to refine your site before you set it free on the world.

Hi Morgan,

You can publish your site to free subdomain and allow us to view your site and thereafter unpublish it.

To publish to a free subdomain:
* Click on the yellow "Publish My Site" button.
* A dialog box will open up, select a free subdomain by filling in the first box and follow the prompts to publish your site.

To unpublish the site:
* click on the down-arrow next to the yellow 'update your site' button
* click on publishing settings
* click on 'Unpublish your site'

Hi Morgan - the link didn't work, did you unpublish your site? It does sound like the problem that Ruth and Ed are describing. In this case, we usually suggest that you try a different style (click on the Change Style button) or create subpages (click here for a tutorial: http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/c...)

Morning all, Thanks Marije for the reply, yes I have unpublished it at the moment. I have tried the different styles but as expected I am stuck on my original choice! The tutorial for the links/subpages was very handy, thanks. One thing on the links, can I set it up so it opens a new window instead of navigating away from my website?I put a link for paypal you see but it takes me away from my website. I will be transfering my domain name over today so it will just be .com instead of synthasite.com.
Big thanks to all those who have helped me,couldn't of done it without you.

You can definitely open the link in a new window, you can find the answer on this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite...
