Hi JenC ,
as you wrote , you need to have more crawl errors !

Sitemaps - 0, not found - 0... Refers to errors while crawiling your site.

To know how many pages have been indexed by Google/Yahoo , search using the keyword below.
Site:yourdomain.com

I can't remember how to check in bing.

Hope these helps.

Hi JenC,

It can definitely take some time for your site to be indexed in the search engines and to start coming up for various search phrases. I can suggest our series of SEO Tutorials. These will take you through the process of planning, building and promoting your site with SEO in mind. I hope you will find that helpful.

Hi JenC,.
.co.nz is a provider that I don't have a much experience. But , remember to make your DNS to POINT at Yola.
If you are using a web forward , it means you will never come up in Search Engines.

Can you say what is your domain ?

Ayesh.... omygoodness! .... have pointed them to Yola...are you saying that if I have my domain name in NZ (or other countries) and then point it to Yola, that it is never ever going to come up in the search engines????? if this is the case I wonder if anyone else is actually aware of this that also have points thru to Yola. I really was not aware of that! Otherwise would not have taken so long to design, and therefore cannot use Yola for others!!!! As many are international and wish to have our 'own' domain names.
mine: WWW newzealandartclasses. xx. xx
other: WWW nzfai. xx. xx
Please replace the xx. xx with co.nz
ideas??? thks...

Hi JenC,
No, that is not the case. When you edit your domain settings to point the A Records towards Yola's ip address, this will not prohibit your site from being indexed and crawled by the search engines. When you edit the A Records this simply makes it possible for us to be your web host and many, many other people do this same thing with their domain names. Web forwarding is different than changing your A Records. So, please do not worry about that!

Hi JenC,
what I said in "need to have more errors" means haven't any crawl errors !

The reason why I said about web forwards is some registrars like co.nz and dot.Tk uses an iframe which search engines can't crawl content.

Try submitting sitemaps , rss feeds , adding articles to article directories and try to get an inclusion in DMOZ and Yahoo.

Ayesh, thanks. the .co.nz has never been a problem. been using about 10 years now for sites (years ago), but just did what you said re DMOZ, and nothing, however, comes up ok in Alta Vista. will try others pm today.
But..... did you know....,. also comes up with profiles that are in Yola. As found mine and others there, for all to see what we have on our 'Dashboard' ! Am going to put this in another question on the Community page.
I just do not understand as always come up with others I place ex Yola. so, as I said before, am quite lost on this one.

Ayesh, meant to say. What you are saying is...... do the crawl errors have to be 0? which is what I would have thought? or do they have numbers?? not quite understanding you in 'need to have more errors' ?

Hi JenC,

I think this thread is getting a bit confusing, and I would just like to help get the question you have answered sufficiently. What I think you are asking is what you need to know about crawl errors in your Google Webmaster account.

It is important to note that Google Webmaster can be a bit of a finicky tool and often errors with sitemaps will resolve themselves within a couple of days on their own. If you see an error, confirm that you haven't changed your verification code, and that you have entered the correct url... and keep in mind that Google Webmaster errors do not mean that your site will not be indexed.

SEO, including most of the tips and information in the tutorial series is an ongoing, not quick, process. The best thing to do if you would like to know more about SEO and how to get your site into the search engines and listing for keyword searches is to read more on the topic, work to implement various techniques into your site's pages, as well as develop backlinks to your site as this is one of the most important aspects of SEO.

Please let me know if this does not sufficiently answer the question at hand, and if it does not can you specify what questions you still have.

Thanks,
Emmy

Emmy, been busy and away from computer. thanks for this. Have nto changed the code, all was 'A;' ok, everything done properly, but seems to be taking ages to what it usually does when I list other sites for other people . So, yes, was getting confusing to be honest. With Webmaster have not done lots before with it and normally just get listed quite quickly in Yahoo/Google etc. but this time it has taken a while. Yes, do have to work on the links part. However, from this week on am so busy with other items - my computer is on hold for a while. but will get on with it. thanks again.

Hi JC,

Leave your sites URL and I'll have a look over your meta data and page content code or you could run your site through a website grader

Hi JC,
here is the help from me.

When I create my site with my friend (he began using yola later) I created my content very well and added my site to tons of FFA pages. I thought that it will call Google to come, crawl, index and keep me showing at it.
But , it took a lot of time , yea , a really big time to get indexed.
When it happens , my friend's site has 150 indexed pages and he was happy .

I submitted 2 site reconsideration requests , added sitemap.xml , get included in Jayde , Pegasusdirectory and published articles at ideamarketers.com

now , I own a site(Yola) that Googlebot comes arround once a day.
Believe me ,
submit YOUR articles to article directories.
Submit some of your site's RSS feeds to Google as sitemaps.(if you post to blogs )
get included in Jayde and Pegasusdirectory.com
submit your site at forums.

Keep doing these , and wait 3 weeks.
You will get included in Google, and google will love to come at your site everyday.

Hope these help.
