im on the phone with paypal. I want them to create a better integration of the shopping cart so that we dont have to create a million different buttons for thousands of different products. Is there anything else I can ask them that would help in this situation?

I think it would be great if they expanded on the buy now option....where we could add variables such as quantities, shipping, view cart etc right on Yola.

Their site is not user friendly ...It very hard to find what you want....I may check out Google's cart...Have you used that ?

I was ready to launch and then they changed the base and made the system no longer free. Now it seems they are comparable to paypal so I am not sure it is worth the time to relearn a similar yet different program.

The buy now button is a kind of joint project between Paypal and YOLA and any changes must be a combined effort to make the features we desire. I believe it is a product integration/relationship thing. Months ago it was shared that the Paypal widget was an item that was going to be looked into for these changes but I have not heard anything lately.

I don't know if a phone call will actually help girl...

Hey njoynlife,
Ed is correct in the fact that the integrated PayPal store in the site builder "is what it is" at this time. We totally understand that users would like a better store option as the one we currently have is limited, this is something we will be working on in the future, and it is important that we know what types of features users are interested in!

The buttons you can make inside PayPal and paste into an html widget is the option right now for a more customized button with options. Hang in there with us... there is surely more to come!

Regards,
Emmy

Thanks for reading and replying Emmy. I have been trying for days to find a solution. I did come across remote shopping carts and also this link in paypal. I just want to be sure that none of these options would work: https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cm...
If they are remote it would somehow link to an outside but seems inside cart yes? Do I need more understanding on this?

It would take some research on my part to see what those options entail, but what I can say is that the online store widget itself won't allow you to upload another e-commerce option into it. You could always look into an e-commerce solution that didn't involve our online store widget. Have you looked into Google Checkout at all? I can give you some instructions for adding their checkout system onto your site.

Hello Mike

This is still on our list of our many feature requests. We are currently working on other projects at this time. It would be helpful if you could give us some ideas on the kind of options you are hoping for with PayPal or with an online store. This will help give us some direction as well. Thanks.

I would recommend having the ability to:

*maybe a PAYPAL MANAGER where you can create groups or something of the sort to keep the products neatly organized
*Select a special "Sale", "Discount(ed)", "Price Lowered", "NEW", "LIMITED", "HOT" banner ON THE IMAGE when you first create the ad AS WELL AS when you want to edit the ad.
*have a DROP DOWN MENU that you can select for different options (my case: with 10mm LEDs Single Row, next option with 5mm LEDs Single Row, third opt. 10mm LEDs with Double Rings, etc)
*edit email address (both single products and catalog)
*have customer able to select types of shipping while checking out( USPS Priority Mail, USPS Express Mail, USPS Parcel Post, etc.)
*create INTERNATIONAL rates for shipping based on package type, size, weight, etc. just as in USPS/FEDEX/UPS/etc (
*create and implement OUR OWN discounts/codes/redemptions/etc.
*once checkout is completed we can have the option to send the customer to our own pre-designed page (thank you page)
*REARRANGE products in a CATALOG
*insert pictures without having to drag from another window or tab
*link certain words or pictures in ad to another page or file
*add sales tax
*add shipping and handling fee (optional on our part)
*show quantity available
*REQUIRE IMMEDIATE Payment
*set a promotional shipping rule (purchase XXX.xx amount and receive FREE Shipping)

Maybe being able to set up a Chinese auction/ Raffle that would be able to run for a predetermined length of time and automatically select a Random winner.
