I just purchased the online store for a domain that is hosted elsewhere. I have pointed it correctly to yola and did all tests etc., I went and set my site up and realized that I would have to utilize the online store for it to work correctly so when I loaded the store it attached itself to what was my primary site whose domain is with yola, sunshinepoms.com. So I researched what I thought would solve my problem and I made glassicgems.com the primary by unpublishing sunshinepoms.com. Now I can't republish sunshinepoms and glassicgems still does not have the online store attached to it. Please help me resolve this, I am working on a deadline for listing inventory before I have to leave town. Thanks so much Ellen

Hello Ellen,

The Store doesn't auto attach to any specific domain. It is in effect a widget like the others so you can drag the Online Store (widget) onto any site in your sitebuilder and then publish your site to any valid domain including pointed domains, as I have done. The Online Store is account wide and is not limited to one site within your account.

I want to confirm your domain assignments. Eventually you want both domains to display identical content (incl the Online Store) and you wish your primary domain to be glassicgems.com?

If this is the case then you can publish to glassicgems.com then subsequently set glassicgems.com to be your primary Assigning domains and creating a primary domain. That would mean then that anyone who types in sunshinepoms.com will be shown glassicgems.com.

The issue of not being able to republish: The first thing I would do is to clear your browser cache. Re-publish and check the published site after about 5 to 10 minutes. The sites are taking a little while to go through at this time which may be what you are seeing as an inability to republish, maybe just the definite delay at this time.

Hi Gop,

Thanks for your assist. I appreciate your information and at this juncture am aware that the Store is nothing but a widget that can be applied to any of the domains. It was not clear to me last night because during the Store set-up the last item you are directed to do is press an arrow on the bottom right side to "Set up Your Store" and when I pressed that it took me to Sunshinepoms. I think that perhaps Yola might insert a drop down for multiple domain owners so they might select where they want to go or remove that step and direct them to their Yola page to edit their domain.

No, I do not wish for one site to direct anyone to the other, each is a stand alone business. I was introduced to "primary" on my Yola page, and thought that was why the Store function was sending me to Sunshinepoms as it was listed as Primary. I will be certain to read the link you sent and make sure that I don't have anything set up that way.

I was able to re-publish Sunshinepoms last night by re-purchase and am a bit uncertain as to why, but that is another issue for another time that I will take up with Yola directly.

Happy for the support, thanks again, Ellen

Hi Ellen,

Glad that this is resolving.

You mentioned re-purchase of your domain? Can you just watch your credit card on the next payment cycle invoice and check that you haven't been billed twice for this? It shouldn't happen but worth your while checking. You can't have 2 copies, if you like, of one domain so additional payment is excessive. Hopefully Yola will check this out with you and see if in fact something strange has happened.
