Online Store not Working, Probably an Integration Issue

Yola has been a great hosting service. But potential customers report that my online store doesn't function. Indeed, I've had trouble getting the three-way integration between Yola, USPS, and PayPal to work. PayPal has "test" button for its APIs that says its end is working. Contact with USPS customer services says they've made their APIs "live" and I should contact Yola. I'd really like to have a working online store. Please get in touch ASAP and help me.

Also, why the additional hoop of Internet bureaucracy with Get Satisfaction? I don't want Facebook apps, and I don't need yet another password-accessed service to work through.

Hello Leland,

I know that PayPal is working on the Online store. I use PayPal Standard and PayPal Express at times. There's no configuration required other than the selection on the Control Panel of the Store.

I haven't used USPS specifically but there are no alerts from other Ecwid Store users for this shipping.

May I suggest that you turn on PayPal Sandbox and run a couple of trial purchases through. This should give you some idea of where it is going wrong. If there are hold ups in the data transmission then these should generate errors and there should be some alert.

To understand what's happening the trials should help clarify this.

It appears that I'll need a "dummy" PayPal account or a cooperative person with an existing account. Otherwise, when I attempt to check out with my own login, I am prevented from doing so, even with the Sandbox option checked.

Am I correct about all this?

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems to get your Yola Online Store to work properly. I'd suggest to first use Gop's generous offer to help (thank you, Gop!), and if it doesn't work out and you need Yola Support to investigate, please let us know on this thread.

So I would need gop's PayPal username and password to take up the generous offer.

Are you reading me as having a sarcastic tone? That was not intended. I'm paying good money for access to Yola, and I'm reading a condescending attitude that's inappropriate for customer relations or dealings with a microbusiness that's getting established.

I'm sorry if I came across as condescending as I certainly did not mean to project this. If Yola is responsible for the issues that you're experiencing, we will gladly make this right for you. The problem is in trying to ascertain where the problem lies. We want to work with you to make this determination.

Yola is not currently experiencing problems with setting up payment methods with the Yola Online Store. Since Gop confirms that this area is working with his shop, it leads us to believe that the problem may lie outside of Yola.
