Hello All

When I created my online store I read tutorials and discovered that I can have multiple categories, and only show certain categories on specific sites, so I can have multiple stores.
When I try to edit the layout and what category to show, like in the tutorial, then save my changes, it shows it has saved the page and then when I post the changes it goes back to showing all the categories not just the ones i selected. Has anyone got an answer as to what I may be doing wrong

Thx Gord

Hello info

Could you please post your URL here for us to investigate further in your Yola account?

Hello Gord,

The trick to identifying a category is to click on one that is of interest in the first display and it will refresh and display products of that category. In your browser you will see the category ID along with the URL. This is the category ID to use for a specific page display and ignore the rest, as described in the tutorial in Ecwid. Take a note of this category ID

If you see on this page is a group of categories and then on any subsequent selected page it drills down specifically to the selected category.

You can also use the Yola/Ecwid developed widget to select a category from the list in the configuration of display you want and that will do the same thing. In that case you would Edit the online store widget and select the category that you wish to display. This I think is a more intuitive method than the category ID I mentioned above.

Ok. SO here is whats happening. I try to edit site by clicking on the online store widget. It shows me what categories to show and what layout. I make the selection to only show T shirts and save, do a page preview and it shows all categories. I go back to the widget and it has defaulted back to show all products.
Im Lost.
Maybe I havent set up the store properly from the get go.

Regards

Gord

Hi Gord,

I think you are doing this correctly as far as selecting your displayed category but then the easy thing to overlook is to SAVE the configuration at the lower right hand side of that modal ( which I read you have intended to do). I'm hoping that the solution is as easy as this and very easy to overlook :)

Please republish as a final step in case this is cached with your ISP and also clear your browser cache to throw out any prior versions locally on your computer. Your site looks fine to me but I don't know what your aim is specifically

Gop.

PS: Your site looks fantastic and is beautiful display and set out of your catalogue. Congratulations. Appealing promotion!
