Hi i'm have no end of battles with the online store, it just isn't working for my site and/or needs. I did test the Paypal widget and whilst it did work this isn't sufficient enough for my needs in that because it doesn't allow me to manually put in the postage etc i'm banging my head against the wall here. I can't factor in a postage price into my items, it just doesn't work like that for what i'm selling and the way my site is, also, majority of people that will visit or want to buy from my site won't / don't have Paypal.

I am trying to find a free online invoice program or software that I might be able to utilise that way I can calculate the postage etc etc also I need to be able to offer not just Paypal but direct bank transfer/deposit options so I figured if i just forget the Paypal/online store altogether and just list everything I have on different pages (set up accordingly and nicely and rather than me scan and upload something like 8,000 trading card pics i will simply link the card title to another online site so they can view the particular card) people will have to email me with what cards they want then I would have to send them an invoice and payment details.

Reason I can't factor a postage cost into the actual cost of each card is that there is many other numerous accessories etc available and the postage is just so different to perhaps mailing off a trading card or 10.

I did find another site a friend used to set up his website for the exact thing I am selling and he had a 'virtumart' attached to the site, I know this worked because I bought from him many many many times but for no amount of money I cannot figure out the site, it's way over my head and i've done so much here I didn't want to repeat myself, all I would have done was used the other site place as the store and link to it from my Yola site but like I said......waaaaaaaaay over my head to even understant the very first step to starting....lol.

Does anyone know of any other way I might be able to get around the dilema I have please? Open to suggestions and ideas :)

Thanks in advance

Hi Indi,

I'm not sure I can help you with everything, but I just want to comment on a few issues:

I did test the Paypal widget and whilst it did work this isn't sufficient enough for my needs in that because it doesn't allow me to manually put in the postage etc
Did you try using PayPal buttons from PayPal.com directly? This way you can add more customization to your buttons and selling your products than the Yola Widgets currently have. This PDF may help you: https://cms.paypal.com/cms_content/US...

majority of people that will visit or want to buy from my site won't / don't have Paypal.
Part of using PayPal is that your customers can pay using a PayPal account or their credit cards.

I did find another site a friend used to set up his website for the exact thing I am selling and he had a 'virtumart' attached to the site
Is your friend using virtuemart.net? This wouldn't be compatible with Yola because of the hosting requirements.

Aside from PayPal, there are other payment services out there:
- Google Checkout: http://checkout.google.com/
- AlertPay: https://www.alertpay.com/

If you do a Google search, you will find more options.

I hope that other people in the community with more experience in this area will jump onto this thread and help you out!

Hi, thanks for answering, was about to call it a night (Aussie time)....I read all over the actual Paypal site but no I just used the online widget thingy here. Even after reading directly on Paypal though, it still doesn't do what I want it to do such as me being able to add in the appropriate postage costs or combined postage on multiple items.

I will however go and look at the link you have given me....thank you :)

I need also that my qty available somehow changes if a person purchases a single item or 2 or 10 rather than me continually having to go and change my qty available everytime someone makes a purchase. Basically I really need something exactly like Ebay without me actually selling on Ebay.... :(

The next part of your response you said about them paying via Credit Card, the thing here is that I am dealing in trading cards so my buyers are mostly younger and don't have or are not old enough to have credit cards or Paypal accounts, hence the reason for me really needing the direct debit/bank transfer option.

Re virtuemart....yes that is it and yes I know it won't work here because it is married to J****la (don't want to mention something in case I'm not suppose to), I was thinking of doing a J****la with virtuemart set up then from a page here on my Yola site just link to my J***la but like I said.........it's waaaaaaay over my head it's not worth the headaches, at least here at Yola I can drive the thing.....lol....and I enjoy doing so, it's a much relaxed place with plenty of easy to understand support.

Finally, thank you for the links to the other payment services, I will also check those out but tomorrow....it's been a loooooooooong day here.

Thank you so much for your guidance, i will definately let you know how I get on :)

Hi Indi,

As far as I know, PayPal does offer Inventory Management. If your customers don't have access to credit cards, then they can pay by bank account: https://www.paypal.com/il/cgi-bin/web.... They also allow payments from debit cards if no credit card is available...
