How do I get my links to open in a new window so my visitors are not taken away from my site?
I read the other reply from Sean Nieuwoudt int this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite...
about 2 months ago but, this will not work as not all of my links reguired the file upload.

Hi beaverhunter

If you have a text link you want to open in a new window, here are the steps:
1) Add text using the text widget
2) Select the text that you want the link and then click "insert link" on the text editing toolbar
3) Create your link to your chosen URL as normal, click ok
4) Then click "HTML" - the last icon on the text editing toolbar
5) You will see the code that looks like this for your link (I have used the text "Visit Wikipedia to see more information", with the link being on Wikipedia:
Visit <!-- <a href="http://www.wikipedia.org">Wikipedia&l...> to see more information<br> -->
All you need to do is add in target="blank" as show below:
Visit <!-- <a href="http://www.wikipedia.org" target="blank">Wikipedia</a> to see more information<br> -->

NBRemember to leave out the < !-- and the -- > when you add your code.

Your link will then open in a new tab or window, depending on what browser your visitor is using.

Let me know if you have any difficulty with this.

Best wishes
Monique

I do not have a HTML icon in my text editor. (step 4)
The only HTML icon is in the right hand toolbar, and that will not
allow me to edit HTML for the text, it just produces a new widgit.
What am I missing? LOL

Hi Beaverhunter

When you have clicked on a text widget the text editing toolbar is displayed the HTML icon is the last one - on the far right. Please have another look and tell me if you still can't get it to show up.

Hi Beaverhunter,

The problem might be that your screen resolution is quite low so the 'Content sidebar' might be hiding the 'HTML button'. Please click on the 'Hide Content Sidebar' button and then click edit on the text widget to check if the 'HTML button' now appears. You can always bring back the 'Content sidebar' at any time by clicking on 'Show Content Sidebar'

Regards,
Kershnee
