my main needs...

opinion on the overall look
opinion on the width and height of the page and is it approximately 100% of your screen
opinion on the colors (remember, it's suppose to be a family-friendly and fun website)
opinion on the content that will be going into the site
help with gathering C++ resources, yes, I intend on creating my very own instant messenger (although, not expected to be available til next year at least)

suggestion on other content to add
suggestion on the design of the site
suggestion on other programming/scripting languages I can consider using in the site - I already plan on xhtml, php, sql, c++, and javascript.

the colors behind the text are done using classes and background-color in css and not done with Yola. You Can Never Be Too Smart is a Yola created site but not the one I was asking an opinion on today.

hey John, it's not a yola site... but the best place for me to get "good" responses is here at Yola and I'm still using Yola since it's so much easier and faster.

I've actually had debates with people about the speed of creating a site with php and that of html. I understand how things can be faster with php because you have the css, include functions, require functions, etc. but noone understood my point that it also depends how much those are used, with html (such as this sitebuilder) it's quite a bit easier to click the mouse three times rather than typing the html to insert an image. lol

see the page you wrote on?
the page im writing on?
they are in white-as should your site & any site frankly (unless yu are a death metal site where black is applicable etc)
ebay-faceache etc etc all use white backgrounds as thats the common denominator-ebay spends a lot of money ignoring people tpo carry out opinion polls-white is where its at lol, other than that all good-it works+yu can get where you want 2 go!
all the best

So you're telling me that "ordinary" and "common" is better than "unique"?

Considering this is a Yola forum for Yola users, I don't feel comfortable offering opinions on a site built/hosted elsewhere. It just doesn't feel right, you know?

Hey there Donald,

This is a Yola forum, we're here to discuss website building with Yola, not with other website builders. Can you please refrain from using the forum for projects that are outside of Yola, threads like this can end up being confusing for others.

Thanks,
Emmy

just redo the site in the simple rule of 3's ... the way the Internet rules state all sites should be ... thats 2 rules across and 2 rules down ... incase you have never played a game called XOXOs
