Hi, I created a .ca domain name with Yola. Who is the actual Domain Registrar? Is it Yola itself, or some other company working with Yola? I want to understand if I actually own the name.ca domain and understand how I can have that continue beyond my expiry most easily. The actual DNS is pointing somewhere else right now, im not using the website made at Yola anymore. Please help me understand, thanks.

Not anyone truly OWNS a domain . . . You pay to register a domain and as long as you never let it expire you it is yours to use. If you let a domain expire it is not yours to use. Although there is a grace period that allows you to re-register, if you wait too long the name is open to anyone to register. If someone beats you to it...you are out of luck. This is controlled by http://www.icann.org/ . . . I think Yola is working with tucows at the moment as their registrar . . . I am sure the staff will correct me if this is not correct.
