I've noticed that my site no longer pops up on google like it used to when I put in a search along the lines of "bristol driving school", or "bristol driving instructor". I have just checked my page rank and have been given a ranking of N/A nd told that maybe google sees my site as supplemental. What does this mean? How do I get it back?

Not sure what the etiquette is about answering your own questions, but just incase anyone has the same issues as Im having. Visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkwKuf...
It's a 5 minutes FAQ about supplemetal google ranking, using simple language and giving advice that is easy to follow and execute.

I'm pretty sure my tags and titles were far too similar on each page. Wanting "bristol driving school" to be my 'tag line', which Ive heard so often is what makes your site stand out when people search google. Be careful, try to mix it up a little. I've resubmitted my sitemap to google and fingers crossed I'll get back on the normal listing.

Your page titles look fine...Did you follow up with different page descriptions for each page also? I don't see an active link exchange program on your site... that is a factor in increasing and maintaining Page Rank.Link exchanges put you in more places for people to see you also...My Google Analytics shows hits to my site all the time from link partners.

Hi Will,
Writing a Title, Description and Keywords tag is a great thing to do for each page of your website. I see that you have written title tags, it is a good thing to follow those up, as John suggested, with a description and keywords tag as well.

A good idea when you are writing the tags for each page of your site is to stay consistent throughout each tag of that specific page. If the keyword you are shooting for is Bristol driving school on your home page, than having that in the title, description and keywords tag, plus mentioning it in the body text a few times lets the search engine know just what your page is about. As always, nothing is a sure fire way to get your site listed for specific search terms, this is just a good starting point.

The area labeled Window Title is where you will put your title tag. Your title tag should include the main keyword or concept of your page, your business or website name and your location if this would be important to your visitors; it should also be under 70 characters long. Here is a basic example:

Fine Gold Jewelry | ABC Jewel Company | My Town, Texas

The area labeled Description is where you will put your description tag. Your description tag should include your main keywords for the page, or variations of your keywords, as well as the name of your company and the location if this would be important to your visitors; it should be under 200 characters long and should entice Internet users to click. Here is a basic example:

ABC Jewel Company provides customers in and around My Town, Texas with the finest yellow and white gold jewelry imported directly from Italy. Stop in today!

The area labeled Keywords is where you will put in the main keywords for the page. Don't stuff keywords, only list keywords that apply to the content of the page. Here is a basic example:

fine gold jewelry, gold jewelry, white gold jewelry, ABC Jewel Company, My Town Texas, TX

You will also want to try to easily blend the keywords you utilized in your tags into the content on the page of the site. Again, don't stuff them in, blend them in casually making sure to keep the flow of your content.

Another important piece of the puzzle is consistent additions to your site. This doesn't mean you have to add to your site everyday, although you could, it just keeps your information fresh and keeps the search engines queued into the fact that you are adding content and looking to please your visitors. A blog is a great way to update your site often. I noticed your page with Free Help, you could consider blogging out some of that information. Here is a link to our blog tutorial Blogging With Synthasite.

I hope this is helpful, if you need further assistance please let us know.

I had filled in all the fields as suggested above, but I had them pretty much the same on each page. I've read that this is a bad idea as google sees it as repeatitive and could lead to being put n the supplemental index. Which Im assuming I was in as when I used a page ranking tool, it came back with N/A. Seeing as my site isnt banned, I have plenty of content on each page, the only other conclusion is supplemental indexing.

I've changed all my tags and headings so they are all slighty different, read well still, but Im not repeating myself.

I have a page with about 40 links on http://a-class-driving.synthasite.com... Is this not an active link programme? I have exchanged links with many companies in the car business, which is relevant content using links exchange websites. Is this not the right thing to do when it comes to linking? I've opened up lots of social network profiles in facebook, bebo etc. I've also opened up several blogging profiles too, some on driving websites, some with massive corporations such as British national newspapers.

Google webmaster tools still says Ive no links, yahoo says Ive lots. I resubmitted my sitemap about 7 hours ago after making changes so fingers crossed it comes back and gets back in the google listing.

Ironically I do really well using a non-synthasite site. I opened up several free business listing sites (index.co.uk, BT trade space, google business listing) and I'm no.1 when I type in "bristol driving school" and "bristol driving instructor". Just a shame that the site I've spent hours on and want people to see is down at 159! Using seobook.com rank checker, which is an awesome tool by the way!
