Hello,
I have a question on page redirects. I see a few people have asked this question but those answers refer to regular pages. I am trying to get my blog page to redirect to my feedburner blog. My blogs address is
www.firesafetyenterprises.com/fse-saf...

i would like to redirect it to

http://feeds.feedburner.com/Fse-safet...

Any insight or help would be greatly appriciated.

Thank You
Cory

Hello Cory,

If you are wanting your menu button for your blog to redirect to another website this is possible just like with a webpage; you will just add it to an HTML widget above your main blog widgets.

To get back to the general widgets such as the HTML widget click on the Back Button:

You will then see the webpage widgets and you can follow these instructions to add the menu redirect to your page:

1) Drag and Drop an HTML widget onto your page
2) Paste this tag over the default tags in the HTML editor:
<!--
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2;url=http://webdesign.about.com">
-->

"2" is how many seconds it waits before it redirects

"url" is the url it redirects to, so replace the url in the above tag with the one for the site you want to link to.

I hope this works for you. Get back to me if you have any difficulty with this.

To get back to the blogging widgets click on the Blogging Folder:

Let us know if you have any trouble with this.

Ok, i went to my page to try to start the process but all the widget boxes are overlapped for some reason, and anytime i try to rearrange them so i can do anything it just has freezes up and in the top right corner just says opening. I have to refresh page to get it to come "un-frozen" which brings me back to my index, when i go back to the blog to try to edit it still overlapped etc.

If you enlarge the pic you can see multiple widgets overlapping each other right under the banner.

Hi Cory,
I see that!

Ok, one thing, if you are redirecting your blog page to an external url, the blog page won't show in your site builder anymore because the redirect will happen quickly.

What is the reason you want to redirect your blog page to your Feedburner blog? Do you not want to have your Yola blog anymore but just a link to your Feedburner blog from the menu?

The reason im using an external like Feedburner, instead of the actual page, is so Google can incorporate adsense into the feed. I can add that to the blog page of course, but, when someone subscribes it will no longer appear in the blog.

Unless theres a much easier way to do things lol

Ok, i think i found an all around good solution to my issue.

On my index page on the top right, i have the subscribe to my feed icon, which will take people to my feed, displayed by feedburner. I will also have my yola blog which is in essence the same thing except without google adsense, this will not be in navigation. If someone wants to see the original source of the feedburner feed, there is a link on the top of it that directs it back to the yola blog.

In this scenerio, everyone is directed to my Feedburner feed without the need for a redirect. Plus if they wanted to see the original source of the feed, they can still access it through the link on feedburner.

This also eliminates the need for me to start all over on my yola blog page since the widget boxes are all messed up and overlapping for some reason and i cant seem to get them arranged or moved to how they are supposed to be. Since i can still add blog posts it wont be an issue.
