Hello Rafai,

By PageRank are you referring to Google's PageRank for your site?

From what I understand the biggest thing Google bases pagerank on is the number of the number of links going from another site to yours. If from a quality site, one link could count as 1 PR vote. If from a site that has a zero Page Rank there is no penalty but no PR vote. Also considered is links going from your site to a relevant related site. On outgoing link though only gets about a 1/3 PR vote compared to an inbound link. Some outbound links may cause your site to be penalized though if Google considers them a "bad neighbor". One bad neighbor link outgoing could completely destroy a PR.

I'm not not sure how many "PR votes" equals a Google PageRank of 1.

Other factors that effect Google Page Rank are if your website keywords are in the inbound link anchor text. The number of links on page that is linking to you is also a factor. The lower the number of links on that page, the more valuable the link is considered. Avoid inbound links from any page that has more than 30 links on it. Google may consider it as a 'link farm' and you may be penalized for it. They also consider the quality of the inbound link - if it is from a site that is relevant to your page and your keywords. Another factor is the % of keywords compared to total text on your web pages. To many and to few could both effect PageRank.

If you upload your page and then later on make changes to it with a new site map, you can request Google to re-evaluate your site by submitting a new sitemap to them in WebMaster Tools. Once a PageRank has been established, be careful about changing web page link names (the actual file names) because the PageRank would be based on the previously established links.

I hope this helps..
