Pages still load slow...

Sometimes when I click on a button on my website it will take a good minute or 2 to load. Sometimes if you click once on a button, the bar at the bottom of the browser pops up but no activity happens and the page doesn't even load, so I have to click the button again and again and then finally the page will load. My pages have no big files in them, all below 200kb per page, so that's not the reason. I've had this problem before and I don't think I really got a good explanation as to why this happens, if there is some sort of thing i package i need to purchase to boost the speed of my website pages loading, i will purchase it, because i don't want customers to click on buttons and have to wait for pages to load, or to not bother waiting and go to a different website. Thanks for your time! my website is www.pillowsplusonline.com.

Hi Andy1,

I looked at all of the pages in your site and they all opened quickly for me (Love your cushions by the way!) except for the catnip bag page which seems to have a broken link.

Are you able to look at your site on a different network?

Andy your site is excellent - i love the use of flash, did you design it?

The pages loaded at an average speed on my computer.

I would maybe suggest using a 2 column layout on the pillow product pages - at present its a bit of a waste of space.

Also your not using favicon's - the site would be fully pro looking if you did.

Good luck and well done on 1 of the best synthasite sites ive seen.

Thanks yeah I'm designing this website so my mom can sell her pillows that she makes online, I'm almost finished it, just need to make a few more pages, the rest of the pillows and other small, but important details, like setting up a bank account with Paypal and setting up shipping. Lee you mentioned Favicon's. I'm not sure what that is but I'll search it up on google. thanks for the great comments and support guys!

Hi Andy,

Your mom must be quite pleased with her new website! A favicon is the little custom image that appears next to a URL in the browser window.

If you would like to create a favicon this is what you need to do"

1. Click on the properties sidebar.
2. You will see a "Favourites Icon" field (the second last box from the top). Click on the browse button to the right of the box to browse your desktop for an image to upload.
3. To see what your favicon will look like, save and preview your page.

Please note that Internet Explorer doesn't allow favicons to be displayed next to your URL or on the tab of the window. The favicon will be displayed if the site is bookmarked and in your Favourites folder. The best option would be to change to Firefox which does show the favicons in all three areas.

Due to any one of the following reasons your internet page loads slowly :

1. Local network is overloaded
2. Malware or scareware on end users computers
3. Bad connection

If you want to speed up your internet connection , use the following tips :
1. Clear cookies from your browser
2. Close unwanted background tasks when you are working with the internet .
3. Scan your internet by using standard Anti-virus software
4. Reset your modem and reconnect with the internet.
5. Test your internet speed often by using http://www.scanmyspeed.com/

After increasing your internet speed, you can try to load other web pages .
