I've a website with tutorials for my students and have had no issues with it for years. A new student tells me that see can't access it whilt using a mac, has used friends macs and still can't get in, but can on PCs. I don't have a mac or access to one so can't try this out.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks for your time

Hello Will

We all use Apple Mac computers with Yola, and it's working as designed. I'm getting the password page and can log in using your details for password protection. I'm afraid that I cannot tell why your student is unable to access the page. Are you sure they use the correct credentials that you set up? Or don't they get to the login page in the first place? Can you maybe tell us what exactly happens when they click on one of your tutorial links, do they get an error message?

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me. I've a new student and she tells me that she has a Mac, is using Safari and can't log in, but can with a PC. I've never had anyone in 4 years have an issue with this, I think it's her, but not sure what to say here really.

Will tell her that you guys have responded, all use Macs and have tried and tested it and it works fine. Perhaps it's something on her machine that clashes??? Just guessing.

Thanks for your time and for checking.

Kind regards as always.

Hello Will,

Very recently there have been reported issues specifically with the Safari browser on Macs with Yola. Wondering if this is part of this issue? The problems previously have been resolved by switching to an alternative browser like Chrome. I don't know if the Yola people are using Safari or not.

Hello Will and Gop

Thank you both for your feedback. At Yola we use all browsers that we support, but mainly Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Can you please ask your student to use a different browser as Gop suggested?

Otherwise there could be all kinds of reasons why a particular computer has problems viewing certain websites. I'm also wondering why it is only password-protected pages of your website that they cannot open. At Yola we have tested this in Safari, but we didn't encounter any issues with opening your password protected-pages. We will be looking into Safari-sepcific issues in the future.
