Ok - I've built my site and added the PayPal button to the first page. Now I need to know how to direct them to the 2nd page after they've paid.

In other words...only after they've paid can they get to the 2nd page but how do I do that?

Hi SilverFaerie

I have tried to find a way to make the Paypal widget redirect but sadly it does not. Paypal offers this feature on their website. It's simple if you follow these steps...

1) Sign into your Pay-pal account https://www.paypal.com
2) Click the "Merchant services" tab in the horizontal menu
3) Click the "Buy Now Button" or the "Add to Cart Button"
4) Choose button type and enter name and payment details
5) Click the " Customize advanced features" tab
6) Check the "Take customer to a specific page (URL) after checkout cancellation:" and or "Take customer to a specific page (URL) after successful checkout:" boxes
7) Make sure everything is correct
8) When done editing click "Create Button"
9) In the next window and in the (Website) code box click the "Select Code"
10) Right click on the highlighted text and click "Copy"
11) Open your site editor and drag an HTML widget where you need it
12) In the HTML widget paste the code
13 Then Preview or Update your site or page

This will ensure that after purchase your customer is redirected to the page you wish.

Hope that answered your question...

Happy site building

Here's another suggestion as a workaround. Not ideal, but it's an option.

Title the product with a unique identifier like "Item 23546: The Widget". On the order page be very clear that after purchase you will send them a website link in an email.

When someone purchases you'll get a notice from PayPal with the customers email as the reply email. Set up an autoresponse in your email system to reply to the person with a link to the desired page when the unique product identifier shows up in the body of the email.

Cheers,

Eric
