Hello everybody!

Sorry I am asking so many questions today (it's still early) but I was wondering has anybody used hotlinking for html? I have my menu (thanks for websites) and would like to link a html file instead so it's easier to change in the future. All help will be appreciated.

Thanks so much

Hello lambofgod

You could try using www.mediafire.com to see if this would be a viable option for you. Here are some other options as well. I have not tried these so I cannot guarantee if these will work but it may be worth looking into:

http://www.fileden.com/
http://www.fileave.com/
http://www.snapdrive.net/

Hopefully others can chime in with their experience and offer suggestions as well.

Thanks Littleus, I have gone back to and old post and found the same sites that you gave me last time (I have horrible memory sorry). I have chosen Mediafire, but when I embed the file, nothing happens. I just set up a form as a test and saved it as form.html. Was I supposed to add a special of code in the file? Sorry to be a bother.
Thanks-Dan

It depends on what you're trying to do with this file Dan. If you could give me some more information about this, hopefully I can give you a solution.

From what I can see Dan, you should be able to implement these codes into your site by using the HTML widget. However, it would appear that you're missing part of the code somewhere. Can you please double check your source and see if you have in fact copied everything?

Yes I do know I can use a widget to embed (even though I did take a long break) but thanks for the reminder :). What I wanted to use it as a file for is, if I wanted to change it later, I could and not have to go to 1000's of pages to change it. Here is the portion of the code:
<!--
<style type="text/css"> /*Credits: Dynamic Drive CSS Library */ /*URL: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/ */ .arrowlistmenu{ width: 180px; /*width of menu*/ } .arrowlistmenu .headerbar{ font: bold 14px Arial; color: white; background: black url(resources/Site_Images/titlebar.png) repeat-x center left; margin-bottom: 10px; /*bottom spacing between header and rest of content*/ text-transform: uppercase; padding: 4px 0 4px 10px; /*header text is indented 10px*/ } .arrowlistmenu ul{ list-style-type: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; margin-bottom: 8px; /*bottom spacing between each UL and rest of content*/ } .arrowlistmenu ul li{ padding-bottom: 2px; /*bottom spacing between menu items*/ } .arrowlistmenu ul li a{ color: #A70303; background: url(resources/Site_Images/arrowbullet.png) no-repeat center left; /*custom bullet list image*/ display: block; padding: 2px 0; padding-left: 19px; /*link text is indented 19px*/ text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; border-bottom: 1px solid #dadada; font-size: 90%; } .arrowlistmenu ul li a:visited{ color: #A70303; } .arrowlistmenu ul li a:hover{ /*hover state CSS*/ color: #A70303; background-color: #F3F3F3; } </style>

Ahh.. okay.. I think I'm understanding now what you're trying to do. =) By the way, I am erroneous about mediafire.com. I don't think you can direct link to them in the free package. I would suggest trying one of the other file linking sites.

Now.. to direct link, I believe you can do this: <LINK href="special.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

Replace the "special.css" with the direct link address.

I haven't tried this.. so I'm not certain if it will work. Give this a try and let me know how it goes!
