How do I save javascript files on yola server for my site in order to refer to them when inserting html widget on my website? Do I refer to "My Folder" and if so how do I do this? I am trying to insert a slideshow on my website using Photo Gallery Builder. Thanks for your comments

Hi Deon,

You can add the js files to your File Manager if you have Bronze Silver or greater.

If not then you can't. In this case you could host the file on http://yourjavascript.com and link to it from there. Sometimes the feed can be slow and if this is critical say for the appearance of your home page then this can be a penalised solution because of the load time. It's also a solution that may come with problems like the servers being down or infected. having said that these issues are quite low incidence.

Referring to a file in File manager is straight forward. The destination is called resources and if you placed a js file called myscript.js there, then you would call it as:
resources/myscript.js

Hello Deon

As you have Yola Silver, you will be able to upload .js files to your Yola File Manager. Go to your Yola Sitebuilder, click on "Site" in the upper menu bar, and choose "File Manager". In your File Manager click on the "Upload files" button in the bottom left corner to upload your .js file.

If you'd like to put it into a folder, you can create the folder first, then double-click on it to open it, and then upload your .js file. Don't forget to re-publish your website now.

To refer to your uploaded .js file from your code on a page of your website, please use this URL:
http://yoursitename.com/resources/yourfolder/yourfile.js
The part to refer to the File Manager is "resources". It should also work to refer to it just by
resources/yourfolder/yourfile.js
Let me know if you should get stuck anywhere. If so, please let me know on which website and on which page you are having problems. Thanks.

Hi Stefan!

Tried and tried the link you gave but web page does not want to display picture gallery. Could you please have a look? My website is www.lasercncfabrication.com. The JS files are located in resources/gallery/js folder Thanks! Deon

Hi Deon

I have checked your code for obvious errors, but I couldn't spot any. I will bring this to our code specialists' attention, but it can take a couple of days before they respond. I will keep you updated on this post.

Hello Deon,

Stefan has asked an HTML specialist to assist with the coding issues you're experiencing. While we are more than able to assist with internal coding such as the CSS of a style, we are unfortunately, unable to assist with external coding.

I did take a look to see if I could spot anything obvious with your code but I was unable to detect anything of out the ordinary. As Stefan said, your codes appear to be correct. It could be that this is simply not compatible with Yola's Sitebuilder.

I suggest have a look around for other possible photo gallery scripts. I've had success with scripts from Dynamic Drive. Perhaps you may be able to find something to your liking.

I wish you the best of luck!

Hi Sanja,

Bad news indeed regarding Gallery Builder. However, I will try Dynamic Drive as you suggest. Thanks!

Warm regards
